Wonder if Prince Andrew is just off to the side, offering to hoist Charlotte up, similarly to her brother.

What was the band's name shako I may check them out when I'm over again.
I was chatting to Gary Kelly's uncle in an Irish pub in London a few weeks ago when I was there for the challenge Cup final really nice fella, his missus was a right milf, a few miles on the clock but I'd have had a dabble:p

<laugh> The Skylights is the name of the band. They are from Leeds OLOF, so maybe they are doing a few gigs in Leeds.

remember the colston statue going for a swim......well i don't see the same happening to a madam efunroye tinubu who has one proudly standing in lagos, she was a very wealthy lady from her business activities from trading salt, tobacco, arms and of course slaves she is revered and shamed in probably equal measure to this day she died in 1887.....she was repentant over her slave trading it is claimed, so her statue remains untouched and dry in tinubu square, some scholars argue that she secretly still continued trading in colonial slavery until her death.....hard to let a good earner go eh madam

    Morning all.

So Gary Lineker suffered racial abuse when he was younger due to his dark skin.

That's not Kevin, and he doesn't earn £70K a year. His name is Dominic, and at the time the photo was taken, he'd been a train driver for approx 11 years (less in reality, because he would have spent the first year training). To get anywhere near the top earnings bracket, he'd have to have at least 20 years experience, so I'd guestimate he'd probably be on about £50-55K a year. Still well above the UK average wage I grant you, but it's not an average job (and I'm sure you wouldn't want everyone to be on the same wages regardless of their job, commie style right ?). He doesn't work 9 to 5, but often does long (10 hour) shifts, sometimes starting early, sometimes finishing very late (who's going to be driving the last train from Edinburgh to London ? Mr "Sorry guv, I clock off at 5", I don't think so). And he is highly unlikely to be a member of the RMT, as the vast majority of train drivers are members of ASLEF (now, some ASLEF members will be striking this week too, but it is limited to three companies in Hull, Anglia and Croydon trams). So, trying to infer that all staff striking this week earn £70K a year, for a cushty 35 hour a week job is straight out of the Boris Johnson playbook. The majority of RMT workers are not train drivers - we're talking cleaners, ticket inspectors, station staff. All earning far less and who ARE struggling to make ends meet following the worst cost of living crisis for a generation. And all this time, the boys from Eton tell workers to tighten their belts while scrapping the cap on bonuses for their fat cat bosses.

Keep tugging those forelocks lads !

I am passed caring what happens politically in this country anymore, the Lefties want more wages(for those that actually work),more benefits(for those that don't and won't), more funding for the NHS, open borders for every chancer from around the world to make getting a council/housing association house/flat even harder for everyone, forget seeing a doctor/dentist etc.
    If I was boris I would do this;
A simple solution would be to pay workers in all areas the going rate, something like 10% for those that earn less than £20k per annum ,8% for those that earn between £20-£29,999 per annum, 6% for £30-£39,999, 5% for £40-£49,999, 4%£50-59,999, 3% for £60-£69,999, 2% for £70-£99,999 and 1% for those that earn £100k plus, after all we are in it together ain't we?
No increase in benefits we need to show working is beneficial and living on benefits isn't a lifestyle choice.
Cap the price of diesel and petrol to £1.50 per litre.
Cap the energy providers to what it was 12 months ago.
All this would benefit the working man/woman and the economy as people would have a feelgood factor and more money in their pocket to spend on treats/entertainment.
If that is still not enough to save Boris then hand the keys over to Labour and inform them there is no money left in reserves but wish them good luck.

I remember the 70s and the RMT action is ringing bells inflation partiality caused by excessive wage demands
Power cuts at certain times of the day mortgage rates hitting 15%
The rail workers as I understand it want a large pay increase what the figure is I don’t know however their insistence on jobs for life is a killer
The RMT is just trying to screw the country.
Ps I am just the voice of reason

£50-55k for sitting on his arse and watching the countryside pass by. If I could be bothered to get a job I wouldn't mind a bit of that.
