What sort of stuff @Bob the Mackem, out of interest? Are we talking cars, gold plated keys to the bogs etc. or pencil sharpeners, "you don't have to be mad to work here" signs and safc mugs?
Why are supposedly rational people getting worked up about this lot for as you say there no bad publicity just turn a blind eye and forget all about them
I was born above the shops in westlea square, moved to northLea and married and loved to station rd, a bit of a traveller haha
I worked in the weighbridge at Seaham, and there were kids nicking coal all over the place, the weighbridge was right opposite malvern crescent
A mate had family on an estate with red tarmac roads. We'd drive up on Friday night, he'd stay at his Uncle Jack's and we'd sleep in the car at the Green Mallard. FFS man, why
We've probably met. Used to be a gap in fence they used to wait at if I remember. I think I might have brought the last coal train out of there or one of the last. Memory is hazy now. When we used to leave some used to drop off footbridge into wagons and shovel as much out as possible. I worked out of South Dock and they used to be in the wagons there. As long as they didn't mess about with trains no one was bothered. They never did to be fair.
