I’ve had flu and Covid once…..both quite badly. Flu was worse in terms of being very ill in the initial stages. Covid is much worse for mid to long term recovery. I’d wish neither, as I had it, on anybody.
The last time I can say I actually had the flu would be about 40 years ago. The thing I remember most is the tiredness/ aching and feeling weak.
Long term we know what to expect with the Flu. The scary thing about COVID is actually how it can cross into and hide in the central nervous system like chicken pox does. Chicken Pox virus can come back decades later as shingles, its unknown what, if anything COVID could do and how it might reemerge. It might never turn out to be an issue, but we don't know. If you haven't had COVID, it's dangerous to think of it as like the flu. Immediate fatality rates, and even immediate severity might be very low, the current varieties going around might give you little more than a sniffle... But there is a chance (even if small) that COVID could have long term symptoms that we just aren't aware of yet. ... Oh, and to my knowledge, I've never had the flu so I'm scared if/when I do finally get it, it will hit me hard.
Beleive me you'd know if you had flu. A lot of people confuse flu and a cold. High temperature, aches fatigue, can't get out of bed etc etc. The difference between covid and the flu isn't about severity cos flu is a killer 100% Covid in its prior forms was an inflammatory nightmare. Brain, lungs, heart etc. This is why imo a lot of people followed in on bo Jo amd trump and other bad leaders as these people dismissed the flu as well. They never had a bad dose imo and equated it with a cold in their heads. Most of us imo genuinely have maybe had flu once or not at all. I'd have to believe I've not had anything like a flu in about 20 years. I can remember have a real bad dose as a teen. Honestly I do wonder about this and if some of the mouth pieces who made the initial thing worse actually ever had a bad illness as their lack of empathy suggests thst only having it themselves ever registers with them.
I got Covid right at the beginning, in February '20. I wasn't terribly ill but I've had long Covid symptoms ever since. A friend of mine who got it at the same time was far more ill for about 4 days, but seemed to recover fully shortly after, and has shown no signs since.
You can get different degrees of severity of flu. Your last paragraph is interesting - you often see people who don't get ill very often display a distinct lack of empathy for those who do. They can often be really smug about it, implying that it's your own fault.
well where is it? https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-plan-naby-keita-swap-24275805 I'm waiting for this to get posted to #confirm it.
italians never want to lose a crown jewel. they'll turn round and ask for keita for free or for us to send him to cheslea to pay for lukaku for them. plus give them cash for talking to them. no way they let that lad go.
