I dont disagree with anything here at all. I suppose I cant reconcile in my own mind if Donald left us in a worse position than he found us? I suppose I dont know the ins and outs of what he took on financially. If he hadnt took us on would we have survived? I honestly dont know, and I am no sympathist for him, but I do just wonder what may or may not have happened. By the way, I have had a couple of celebratory pints so may be looking through my beer goggles.
no, i do not think 'spending loads' would get us to the premier any quicker and i never said it would...i am prepared and have been prepared for the 'long haul' approach rather than the quick fix approach, we might get promoted this season with some careful investment and some more shrewd work in the recruitment but the odds are, we wont. there again, if we did manage back to back promotions then the spend needed next season would be astronomical compared to recent seasons i would imagine...my post was merely an attempt to 'pre-empt' the almost inevitable calls for the club to spend, spend, spend and i actually agree with you as i feel a massive outlay is not needed to get promotion, also, (unlike Ellis Short) KLD has had a football management upbringing more or less and is surrounded by those who can and will offer sound and sensible advice, maybe i will be proven wrong but i just feel the club is in the best hands it has ever been in many years.
I’d rather have had madr than the ox. They even ****ehawked them. My point is there were Spanish interested. They weren’t our only saviours. That’s the usual Methlab spin. ‘Without us to save you’. Let’s not let that ****e become a reality.
There must be a big reason why KLD got involved with us. There's a huge family link to football through Marseille, but why does KLD want to get into football ownership? This is just my opinion, but I reckon the lad just loves football just like all of us fans do. He grew up loving 'his' team and his dad owned it, so it doesn't get much better than that. Now he wants to grow the 'love of football' into loving your own club. A club that you've saved from near bankruptcy, worked on, progressed, and hopefully spurred on to a sustainable, successful and exciting future. Basically, I reckon he wants his own legacy. He wants to replicate what his dad did with Marseille and experience the full on Sunderland success experience. The LD family love football. They know Sunderland fans have football in their genes, and the potential is beyond belief. SD & CM are incidental to all of this. KLD and his 'associates' will sort this out I reckon. I've got a feeling in my water as they say.
I've asked everyone who might hear something to be me posted day by day ... ... I've not had a single update. Perhaps people know but won't tell me
Just finished watching STiD after vowing never to watch season 2 until we got out of League One. I was sitting cringing at the inept bunch that were there along with the two muppets. I continually found myself staring blankly and shaking my head in disbelief!!! By the end of the Check-a-trade and play off final they knew and their body language showed their desperation that 'Oh f***' 'What do we do now'.
ffs, no i NEVER said splashing cash will get us promoted quicker... i said i doubt KLD would go down that path looking for a quick fix, is english not your natural language or something? there was no intended implication but as you decided to find one and choose to continue to argue for no reason whatsoever a 'quick fix' does NOT mean success as many other teams have found out, all i was saying was that KLD is far more astute than some seem to give him credit for and he will do things his way, i honestly think you took my post up the wrong way either by accident or just because you were looking for some kind of argument. anyway, i'm done, cba with arguing when there was nothing to argue about...another example of someone needing to prove himself correct when he is not.
Yes Bob, please don't say things that'll make me regret my username change in the post-play-off hurrah.
Get in there Lads, what a win. Absolutely superb. I swear, if I watch it just one more time that Patrick Roberts chance will nestle into the bottom corner and we will win 3 nowt.
Watch it a few more times mate, it will go in . What a ****ing day/weekend though. Absolutely top of the bloody pops. KTF
That is the way it is I'm afraid, no drink and post malarkey. Ross knew about Rangers back in December, but he continued to bang them in.
OK what is agreed is the sale of shares, that's no secret, but the 2 sets of folks looking to take up those shares have to agree certain parts with KLD and JS before they are signed off, the proof of funds was completed last week. The legals I don't know how long that takes, and who it is well I leave that to SMB to make up.
