I've played bedlington twice, shot 75 both times. It's a long course but does give birdie chances, and you've got to aim for birdies if you want to shoot low. I birdied the 1st, 5th, 10th, 12th, and eagled the par 5 11th (driver and 8 iron onto the green, 490 yards lol), I'm lucky to be able to drive 270+ yards, makes the game so much easier
thats class bud ,great score that hate the 18th road to left and my bad shot is a hook . you must be single digit handicap with that score . you not play longhirst
Nice one mate. I don't have an official handicap but all the lads reckon I'm 2 or 3. I'm still learning (lol) so whereas my score is important my overall progress is more important. I'll probs get my handicap this year at scratch.
I'm blessed with a great drive which helps enormously. However, positive attitude is so important. I try to get on the green in regulation as much as possible, it's possibly the one thing that will change any amateur's game...if you want to shoot low scores you've got to think like a golfer. And, if you are there or thereabouts in regulation the pars and birdies will come.
@Dorty Dogbreath , right then you bandit, all being well with recovery, I'm aiming for a round in August. I think 3 shots per hole is fair enough as a starter....and a Buggy.
You know, when I was younger, many many years ago, across the universe, some say I could hit the ball as far as Dorty. I reckon if I blindfold him and with a couple of spins I still can. I hope they don't mind if my Zimmer makes too many holes on the greens.
Bring it on. If you can still pogo at a Stranglers gig you can defo get round a golf course in a buggy. Mind, I haven't yet worn my lime green Ralph Loren golf trousers with matching hawaii shirt. I might keep them for then!
Here it's one thing being seen out in public with Albert in his mustard chinos, but, lime green trousers is another matter. I've dusted off the clubs in the garage, so I'll probably have a look up Beggars Wood some time for a bit of practice.
@Dorty Dogbreath thrashed my way around 18 holes yesterday. Some people whinge on, it's not as if I meant to hit them.
You have no idea, I was wearing a cracking pair of shorts, borrowed Golf Shoes, and a smart Fred Perry top, very stylish considering I was playing at Houghton-le-Spring. I just looked so out of place.
He's looking a bit bland, he's just ****ed his last shot, ball lying about half a foot away from a wall His caddy however is wearing a mustard bib
FML went to play Ramside Hall today for a quick 9 holes (Prince Bishops course) and it was the worst I'd ever played. I thinned every iron shot! Thank god I was the only player for a few holes, it spared my blushes. Anyone ever have a day where it was just utter disaster from start to finish and you look like it was the first time you'd ever played?
