Unfortunately it doesn't appear to be in The Teenage Werewolves catalogue, which is a real shame. So here's the original... ****ing magic.
Cheers! Not bad at all...but it lacks for Captain's 'bouncy' bass sound, that (for me) is such a large appeal of the original.
I loved the music, but never dressed punk, I was always more of a Mod, these are from about ,83 so I was 19 and I have still have both The Jam tie and The Style Council badge, I did come across the boating blazer a while back but its a bit snug now!!!
Very sharp! That blazer must have cost a few quid back in the day...unless you were lucky in a charity shop. Back in the late 70's, I picked up a set of John Lewis leathers and boots for a couple of quid. Like you, I couldn't get anywhere near wearing them today... I've precious few pics from back in the day. Somewhere I've got an ID pic of the 15 year old me in a Pistols t shirt that got me stopped by the old bill and one of me with a mohican from 81/82. I shall try to track them down.
I think both jackets were from Melanddi in Carnaby Street, I had a 3 Button 'Italian cut' suit in Navy from there too Clothes and records were all I would spend money on in those days (other than Beer and Cigarettes). Shoes too, I still have 1 pair of 'Jam Shoes' these were Shellys (Kennedys was a Canterbury shoe shop that I was working in at the time), these were originally black and white but the white was destroyed at Jam gig in Guildford in 81.
I've a pretty good idea that my older brother was at that gig. He went there early in the day and met Paul's dad, who invited him to the soundcheck. I can't remember why I didn't go...but needless to say, I regret it hugely...
I wasn't at this show. It wasn't at the Rat, in Boston. But somehow it's managed to become my memory of the Rat on a really good night...except for the morons in the audience sitting around bobbing their heads when they should have been jumping around like idiots.
This is really spooky as not only did I have a boating blazer bought from a shop just off the main drag that looked remarkably like yours but I also owned several different pairs of Jam shoes bought from the Shelleys store in Carnaby Street! I had a pair of those tea strainers as well as a pair of bowling shoes and another that were suede and had the stripes down each side! Unfortunately no photographic record as they disappeared eons ago.
My uniform back in the day was Black DMs with yellow laces ( not sure why, just different) 501s , leather jacket, Levi jacket with sleeves removed over the top , always a check shirt and hair way past my shoulders , I was ****ing magnificent if I say so myself This was rock concert, punk concert , football, Motor bike races and meets , that was me, one size fits all
The UK is in talks to host the Eurovision next year, as the winners Ukraine can't do it. There's a lot of chat about it being in Glasgow, instead. I think that the Ukrainians have suffered enough already.
That hotbed of musical talent. Presumably hosted by Celtic Frost and Eluveitie, as Yello are only allowed to contribute to film soundtracks. Having said that, I might be the only person that's posted Swiss music on this thread! Fronted by the very Swiss-sounding Anna Murphy.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-61843442 Playing a song at a party gets you into the top 40 these days. And music is s**t these days so re-releasing anything from the '60s to '80s is probably a good idea- or making sure it's available for download. Youth is wasted on the young. Boy do they need a cultural revolution - like rock n roll in the '50s or punk in the '70s. Stop listening to your grandma's f***ing music
They already hosted a couple Come to think of it, Ukraine and Poland co-hosted Euro 2012, and Poland have never hosted Eurovision...
