Wow. If ever a manager should be under scrutiny this is the day. This should open the questions with Southgate and his pragmatic approach.
we are losing 1-0 at half time and who does Gareth bring on to get us back into the game Sterling who has done **** ALL for the past 2 years for England the second half has to be the final straw for Southgate's tenure
Wow Southgate is going to get pelted on this one. Graeme Turnip style. It wouldn’t surprise me if there is a picture of him as a turnip.
He won’t get sacked but the jury is now out. Maybe it is time but the FA like the nice man and the feels. There is no excuse for that.
He need to be given time, Can't sack the most successful England manager since Alf Ramsay just because of a couple of drab performances. I think he has earned the right to lead his country out in Qatar.
Want the manager gone, just be careful what you wish for. Who knows, who's door the FA would be knocking on next.
Finally, this ridiculous European Nations league proven to have some value and meaning. At least now most of the country will actually realise we are nowhere near good enough to win anything, heading into the world cup. So hopefully for once we won't get the stupid hype about England bringing football 'home'. Its not going to happen. Bottom line is, we are ****e. And our (supposedly) 'best league in the world' depends entirely on bringing in quality players from overseas. I can now completely ignore the world cup without having to listen to all the crap about "but we'll win it this time".
And some degree of consistency would be nice. Southgate has absolutely no clue who his best 11 is or which positions they should play in. Has any other international manager tinkered as much as he has?
