Another day closer to the fixtures being released, players back for pre season and the two Muppets gone. I'm very relaxed about it all
Smug, one board is so negative and wants to see failure, and one board who is more positive and discuss the pro and cons in a civilised manner.
And that's rare, you can't buy it either. . Nearly every other player on the planet, would've kicked off about being asked to play in half a dozen positions ... ... sometimes in the same game I bet he has a pair of keepers gloves in his kit bag.
Me too, I think he has the ability to play in the PL. When you think Colback will be there, it's not an outrageous concept.
Aye I dont think many would argue he has the ABILITY to play there. It's between the ears that people question. Hopefully a run of games in a successful side with a good manager puts that right. And hopefully that continues to be us.
Roberts has done fantastic. Massive pay cut, regular games, got fit and played well. Now has a load of options I'd imagine. Will be touch to retain him.
I think he is 25 now, he has drifted around now and needs to find a club to settle with, it just seems a good fit for us and him. A 2 year deal would be sensible, if he kicks on this season and does well then extend it. I think he will be an important player for us.
Walked passed there the other day and they are quite something. Sure someone told me the plots alone were selling for around £300k.
He has turned into a reasonable right-wing back not great but not poor, reliable... also likes to score at Wembley.... so yes new contract.
On the gooch thing about loving the club i think there's a fair few at club now the love the club. Was talking to Winchester in the metro centre other week and he was just loving life been at sunderland. He was saying its a privilege to play for the club and all the players have a massive bond with each other and all love it here. As a fan its a breath of fresh air to hear that after the **** we've had over the last few years.
Does anyone on here have any knowledge of when the next decision needs to be made or is it simply waiting for EFL to approve one of the two bidders?
For quite a few of them, playing in front of 30000 is more than they could have dreamed. Going into next season with a decent happy squad can’t be bad. A few additions and we should be comfortably top half.
I think what most people know is what they've been told so I'm not sure if that consstitutes knowledge or not. Two lads, Prehab and Wheatsheaf, have posted things in advance of the media, at times, so I take more notice of them. The problem is that Donald may agree a deal with a buyer but he's not actually in control of the process. The buyer needs to do due diligence, provide proof of funds, pass the EFL test, etc. That may mean Donald has agreed a deal that's absolutely worthless. He's ALSO, imo, trying to push KLD into buying the shares by pushing forward totally unsuitable candidates like Storey and Cryptoman. Whatever happens we still have KLD as chairman, in control and trying to push us forward ... ... after a Wembley trophy and promotion I'd say he's doing canny so far.
