well yes in a manner of speaking but i vacated the premises fairly early but later checks showed the the same abusive ****e being rolled out a couple of days later .
I was wondering because I've seen some of his, shall we say, distasteful comments regarding Liverpool in the past. I don't think it works having a moderator who also participates on the boards; any personal disagreements and the mod can just ban you. Subjectivity shouldn't be how a forum works.
Yeah but it this simple. This is no longer considered by many a public forum even though it is. they think cos its "niche" they can say anything about anything or anyone and the "owner" doesn't seem to be too connected any more so in theory he could be closed down so probably he'd shrug and unplug the server and forget about the tiny stream of ad cash he must be getting somewhere. I mean the biggest risk to this place bar a power surge to his old server or a needed upgrade he isn't bothered doing will be someone naming someone accused of something and it going public so the actual rags can refer to it. if not606 got named for that it'd be closed. the haters and basically racists old fools on some of the board on this site think they can say/type anything at all and are safe doing it. Its indulged as the former site numbers kepts the ad revenue flowing enough to keep the power running to the server. simple as. and BTW... ja606 is exactly the same. people are indulged to keep the server running and ad money flowing. not606 is 95%? volunteers while the guy with the server makes cash, not sure who else does. I doubt any of the super mods got paid for doing stuff but could be wrong. theres 3 admins on JA606. 2 of which as as bad if not worse than the haters so that says its more important to get a stooge to do the thing for free than have someone do a good job.
My comment about the moderator (in the singular) was obviously directed at the moderator ie. site moderator. The site needs board moderators who are fans of the board they are moderating, that goes without saying but someone who has the power to ban users from the entire site because they've lost an argument with them, isn't a great idea.
There's plenty of stuff on this site that would get it shut down if it had any outside scrutiny. A quick glance at the Leeds board for example shows clear and repeated racist comments and a multitude of libellous comments that could result in court cases should the 'wrong' person be viewing them.
yeah, it really is only cos "nobody" is looking. if someone ever wants a cover quote to publish something ,i wonder if it would stand up to scrutiny but your honour it was in the public domain... look here at least 5 lads from leeds must have read this.
You know I'll deal with it if I see it or someone highlights it to me. I can only work within the Liverpool board though unfortunately. I have banned people from this board for comments elsewhere before though
Just to clear up, my moderator comment wasn't about you or any of our other mods. It was about one person and one person only. You do a great job

What's our evacuation plan if this place ever gets turned off without warning? I'll probably go back to sixcrazyminutes if this place goes down, but do we have a designated meeting spot, or all going our separate ways...
Well we all know ja606 but I know, I hate that placd... and when I've either been banned or lost password here I've gone to www.sixcrazyminutes.com but I don't know if anyone has a better backup plan?
