One thing I will say about them, they did a cracking job with the fundraising for the soup kitchen. Fair play to RR and everyone who donated. Shame we need that sort of thing but that's a different debate.
Many moons ago, I’m talking 2008. I used to frequent another now extinct Sunderland forum with the bloke who runs Roker Report. The bloke was an absolute arsehole. Arrogant as **** and attention seeking in the extreme. Now granted this was a long time ago and he’s around my age so I’d say he’s about 30 now. Maybe he’s changed and matured but that’s how I remember him. Used to spit his dummy out if he wasn’t the forum’s top poster.
The irony is your doing the same thing you preach about. I like here and RTG. And as adults we have the choice to debate or ignore comments. I used to love a good pìss take, wind up etc. But I'm getting old now and there's more important things in life like family etc. That's why I don't bother much online anymore rather than being accused of something like allegiance etc
Their biggest mistake was getting too close to Stewrat and his sidekick. However, I can’t blame them for doing so as they got a lot of news.
It's quite sad and a little weird. There's a constant stream of presumably grown ups who come over to this board pretending to debate a particular point. They usually keep up the pretence for half a dozen posts before having a nasty personal attack at me ... ... this lad only lasted two posts than ran away
I'm not having a dig at him. Posts can be misconstrued. At the end of the day we all support Sunderland but have different views.
Once AN came in, we lost 1 game. We will never know for sure, but some of the defeats under LJ were absolute tonkings. It couldn't go on. Personally I don't think we would have went up under Johnson.
Their podcasts and exposure to Donald was fantastic. Any fans would have done the same and any pretending they wouldn’t have are either lying or bathing in a lake of hindsight
Were they being played by Methven though? Looking back (and hindsight is a wonderful thing) but they look like they have been used a bit. Connor Bromley went off to work for the club and then ended up leaving SAFC not long after, then Graham Falk was at RR and left to do his own pod( which is very good btw).
yeh they probably / definitely were being used to help portray their “open and honest” character. I don’t think Roker report can be blamed for that. As soon as it became obvious that we were being taken for a ride they stopped
Yeah as I said I don’t blame them at all, I bet they were in dreamland they had that access to the owner of SAFC.
I agree, but should that have raised alarm bells as well as excitement? Just playing devils advocate.
I think there were a lot of red flags, this was one of them for definite. I think the biggest one was the fans changing the seats.
I never read their website but really enjoy their podcasts during the season, what they done with the foodbank appeal during last season was brilliant.
