far from a gimme bongo but other than Palace (no guarantee there either) Blackburn would have been my choice for a chance to progress given who's left in.
Quarter Finals with more than likely one of the "big boys" next up? I say go for it (would love to see Palace turn over ManU though)
Definitely strongest team now. Blackburn at home is the draw I wanted and I really feel we can take them.
More the merrier Sparkey, I’ve been able to go to the home games so far but money starting to get tight won’t miss this though.
Sorry guys, I don't understand why you want to deflect an honest comment about your apparent over-confidence about Blackburn back onto our inept display against the Shrews. Mind you, that was a blessing in disguise I think as we can concentrate on staying 10th in the Prem. The thread was about your draw. Trust me, there is a huge gulf in class between the divisions. Anyone who says that moving up to the Prem isn't a massive step up is talking out their ass. I did say it was winnable for you but that seems to have been forgotten because you just can't help yourselves can you. It's a cup game and anything can happen so that means even a team struggling in a lower division can beat a Prem team. That's the magic of cup competitions.
Why? My comments have some merit even if you disagree with them. When you resort to insults it tells me you either have no valid opposing view or you're too dumb to think of one. Take your pick.
HTR I will agree that there is a huge gulf in class between the top 6 prem teams and the championship, and there is a small gulf in class between the rest and the championship. Now Blackburn is a lot more winnable than a lot of the others left and a great cup tie with us going on to the semi finals (i hope).
cvd: I thought the same before we came up. It's a myth. Most teams at this level (and this is where the Swans have struggled at times) only need a couple of chances to take them. The standard is noticably much higher. Blackburn were bottom yet they went to Carrow Road yesterday, a tough venue, and should have walked it but for a horribly deflected shot and a non-pen. For the umpteenth time, Cardiff can win this game, no question. But underestimate them at your peril.
I dont think Blackburn will be underestimated at all but a home tie narrows the class gap a little more. Agree with the standard of finishing between both division and we really will have to take our chances in this game to progress (something we have been guilty of as well this season).
Cup games are one off and teams can often step up a level for that one game. The gulf comes to the fore when you have to live with it week in week out. The Swans are doing well at the moment as are the other promoted clubs. However, as Shrewsbury showed, you can close the gulf in a one off game. So yes hitithe road, it is about OUR draw because we are still in it and you aren't. However, using your demise as an example of where the gulf can be closed is a valid point.
Rhondda....I think Aussies' OK (as are you)....I think I'd rather have Blackburn at home than Palace (struggling Prem v Flying (ish) championship). Best draw we could have asked for (though if we lose......?)
Not too dumb to realise you’re trying to take the piss but you’re not very good at it are you. Sad bar steward
