Well he is distancing himself and sartorial from any involvement and says they'd have to pass the EFL test (thankfully). Why else is he releasing this statement? He just wants nothing to do with the group.
There could be many reasons why he's released a statement. Suggesting he's concerned is way off the mark and just scaremongering
What he should do, as a journalist, is run a check on the supposed buyers. Others have, and they are not remotely credible.

It's been confirmed by CM (Athletic) two bids have been accepted. Both I understand with the EFL. One group gone public the other hasn't. One group has a owner who been bankrupt and has a very unsuccessful in business Also, not able to provide proof of funds. (My understanding) 2nd ultra private people/group (apprently wealthy and professional) that's all we know.
A made up bid from a slightly-more-credible-source-than-storey designed to up the ante from the sensible bidders, helped by the almost hysterical over reaction from the panicers. Behave.
Just not sure why anybody else would. 39% with little say in running the club when KLD calls all the shots with 2% more. Only makes sense if its somebody who knows him very well and trust him. In my opinion like anyway.
