Many will have voted the way they see their constituents would want them too. (Sunderlands MP's note this). In those marginal seats, places that changed from Labour to Tory for the first time in living memory, the sitting MP's with a relatively small imajority, these will be tha ones that have voted against Boris. And, Secret Ballot or not, they are going to make sure that their Constituants KNOW which way they cast their votes. Self preservation will take over for most of them. AS for Boris, I voted for him, based on his promise to get Brexit done, He did. He made a fair fist of handling the pandemic, an event that no country in the World was prepared for. His (or his Government's) handling of the vaccine roll out was excellant. But his arrogant buffoonish cconduct was bound to get the better of hime eventualy. The best I can do is to echo the remarks of Oliver Cromwell. You have sat too long here for any good you have been doing. Depart, I say, and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!
due to the fact that there is not a single person who appears to want to challenge boris and make a move for party leader, i get the feeling this was a 'carefully calculated vote'...enough to show a high degree of party distrust, with the hope he will now start to listen and take care without it being a complete mutiny...also, enough for the voters to start thinking the tories do care.
The media would have us believe Boris is the first british PM to have broken the law while in office, do they know this for sure, or should it be the first british PM to have been found out to have broken the law. I think the latter is quite possible.
The simple answer to that is that every man (or woman) is innocent until FOUND guilty. Johnson was found guilty, nobody else has been. All the others have never even been a suspect, never mind convicted.
What makes you say that out of interest? Was speaking to someone last night who said they’d always voted Tory but never would again. Most worrying outcome is the admission that if you elect the Tories they are directed by rich business people. Hague has come out today and said Johnson must go. It’ll be hard to get on with difficult decisions when there is party division.
IMHO the fat fcuk, is a busted flush, a lame duck waddling. The best chance of Labour, Liberals, Greens and the SNP in picking up more seats is if he remains as PM.

Well the main reasons are, if you are a employee and you’ve just been told you are getting the sack if you don’t buck your ideas up, I think I would buck them up big time, or if they told me you are sacked and we are replacing you with someone better, either scenario is not good for Labour but I may be wrong.
It would be great if the current government found someone who could make things better for the country. I'm not bothered who's in power. I just want someone to sort out the huge mess we're in that keeps getting worse. And someone who can respond to a question without saying 'it's a problem all over Europe'. Why do ministers keep saying that when leaving Europe was supposed to remove us from those problems.
I think if there was someone more credible there’s be more chance of reeelection. Johnson is now scarred within his own party with the reputation of an incompetent disrespectful liar in public. Two bad by elections and it’ll be more stormy.
The public still isn’t stupid though, so there has to be someone more credible in the opposition party and I don’t believe Starmer is that man.
Maybe you’re right but I think Starmers straight wooden bat becomes more credible with every cheap trick the jester pulls.
That'll be the trigger for a few people to head out on manoeuvres. Hopefully someone will emerge from the back benches. Otherwise it'll be more of the same.
The other problem is the jester has a knack of dodging the bullet so if he pulls something out of the bag before the next election all will be forgotten, like all the other things that were going to finish him on here which I can’t even remember now. Here’s a question, why is the government giving us money towards energy? When the companies are making vast profits, why can they not just reduce the price or leave them as they were?
