If he does then he’s learned not much here unfortunately. I would love Broadhead here but that injury record would stop me being absolutely gutted if he doesn’t sign. Roberts now I think could absolutely shine in the champo
I think Roberts will be quality in the Championship. If Broadhead is undecided, no hard feelings but it's onto the next one for me. Too many times in the past players have "settled" for us. Lads 23 and needs to bed down somewhere. Good luck either way.
If Broadhead is even considering a club like Wigan after experiencing our play off games and the atmosphere at all the games then he really needs to get a life.
I really don't think its a case of Broadhead trying to decide between us and Wigan etc. His agent will be discussing options with a tonne of clubs. Possibly hasn't even got to Broadhead yet. Bear in mind Everton need to accept an offer as well. its not like he's on a free. And any club needs to make an offer Everton are happy with, as well as Broadhead.
Football is a short career so you can understand that money is a big consideration. I partly hope we pay a bit less than the going rate for a change though. It might help us weed out players who aren’t hungry and ambitious.
I am not sure about this one tbh. Clearly a good player but he's a bit like Callum Wilson. Plays half a season. Surely now we are in the Champiionship we can aim for better on loan? I actually like Ellis Simms from Everton. Made an impact at Blackpool in laegue one and was on loan at hearts last season who are desperate toget him back there.
liked him when he was at Blackpool, few good options in the premier league, gelhart (forgive the spelling) at leeds if they strengthen/bamford is fit could be a shout, there’s the obvious ones like delap at city, even greenwood at leeds but more of a number 10 I think, just no more barrel scraping for the Ashley fletchers of this world please
In answer to your earlier point and that of @samsafc When I said I believe things will carry on much the same as now that doesn't mean it's not exciting. It's more to do with the belief that the new investment won't mean big disruption. We'll have rid of the two stains on the club which people have repeatedly demanded, that's exciting enough. Plus we'll have a chairman, manager and staff who've done us proud, that's exciting for me. I feel the scouts and staff will bring in good signings and loans that will fit it without disruption,. This was never a huge mega-rich takeover, I think some people may have just become a bit over-excited with it all, perhaps a legacy from the last time. What I believe will happen is that someone within the wider L-D 'family' will come in and alow things to carry on as they are ... ... as that's currently upwards I'd be quite happy with that.
Sorry not related to this thread but over 28000 ST’s sold, still plenty of time until the direct debit deadline too
Just looked at the average attendance for last year in the championship and Bournemouth at the bottom with just under 10k. Fan income is not as important as it used to be!
Translated as '28,000 mugs buying SCs on the back of lies about D&M going' by some people ... ... I think it shows confidence in KLD who'd carry on, in much the same way, whether they go or not.
When it comes to the parachute payments no fan income isn't as important. Many clubs take the risk of spending in the hope of a quick return.... the problem is if it doesn't work they could end up like Derby etc with financial problems.
