If Giggs wins his case, I suspect that he would want/expect to return to the job? Not sure it’s ‘his team’ anymore, so to speak
Great result for one tiny part of the world! It'll be strange being at a world cup finals but looking forward to the group, we can finish second, at least The game could have gone either way, both sides had good chances. Odd subs toward the end, why take James off and leave Moore on? I have to say though, i found the diving and play acting from Welsh players, mainly Dan, embarrassing but that's modern football unfortunately.
We've gone from a team that would roll over for anyone to a team that can have an off day and still pull out a victory.
I’ve seen many comments today that thank Gary Speed for starting this fantastic run. Yes - he certainly played a huge part in this, as did Chris Coleman, However, no one ever (or very rarely) mentions Tosh. He basically ripped up Hughes’s team of underachievers and blooded 30 odd youngsters to try and create a platform for the future. He lost a number of games along the way, but the experience that those boys gained early was invaluable. 4 of today’s starting 11 were blooded by Tosh: Bale, Hennessy, Ramsey and Allen.
There’s absolutely no chance he’d come here - could you imagine a Cardiff boy coming here as Player-Manager …. It will never happen…. Oh, hang on ….
Well, stranger things have happened. Who thought Michael Laudrup would ever come to Swansea ? Bale is going to be looking for a very lucrative deal wherever he ends up. His free fransfer availability means he can negotiate a mega signing on fee, with his Agent getting something, perhaps, a little less mega. Then there is the weekly pay packet, plus appearance money, money for goals scored and assists, etc. The overall costs of taking him on will be frightening, but increased gates, shirt sales, etc., will defray them slightly. A wise Club would give him a wide berth now, so he's a shoe in for Cardiff, who desperately need something to offset their appalling public image. Were he to choose Cardiff, he should get all the payments up front. As we all know, they don't like honouring contracts.
The Cardiff forums believe that there are a couple of prospective buyers for the Club (one US and another ‘international’ ie foreign). After all, as one wrote they are “… a massive Club” and “Chelsea were once where they are…” Bale would produce a huge merchandising boost to Cardiff - or Swansea - and he could negotiate a percentage on shirt sales etc. DC United have reportedly expressed and interest - with Levein and Kaplan controlling DC and us, who knows they could lend us Bale during their ‘off season’
