Yes, men returning from the war believed the fantasy Socialist Utopia that was being offered by the Labour Party under Clement Attlee, a proper Leftie hypocrite from a wealthy family. That was the first time that Labour had a majority government and it was so successful that in the 1950 election it was re-elected with a majority of just 5 and lost the snap election of 1951 as the Lefties fell out amongst themselves.

The Lefties squabbling amongst themselves: that never happens nowadays does it? Most of them hate Starmer and still love loser Corbyn. They no longer represent the common working people but an ideological anachronism.

Even the Americans quickly abandoned this idiocy and look on us with complete befuddlement. He had no known connection to England, let alone the leading individuals in a sport he had no known interest in. No other sportsmen in the country are performing similar acts of worship, nor are any other countries within the game.
