Eaves had offers from Scotland last summer but chose to stay. McCann confirmed it. Aren’t you a teacher? Apologies if I’ve confused you for someone else on this board. Teachers get paid their monthly salary over the six week holidays even though they aren’t working. Is that ****ty too? No, because it’s in their contracts as term-time employees.
Yes, I'm not arguing he hasn't got a right to do that. If he doesn't want to go, fine, but he won't be in the team (he's not on mega wages anyway, but that's besides the point) and he isn't going to be "chasing a place" because he couldn't even get into the first team this year, he's got no chance next year. And when his contract is over and he needs a new club, you reckon he'll get a glowing reference from City? He's just making his career more difficult for himself. He'd be better off asking to go out on loan, but I don't think he's even bothered to do that.
Yes he did but Eaves fought his way into the team and played. Unless Moncur suddenly ups his game by a massive amount, he's not going to dislodge the players that are being targeted. We get paid a salary for the month of August, yeah. But that's not really a decent analogy because that's one month a year. If I was still getting paid as a teacher and not working at all and just turning up and sitting in the staff room, that would be different.
Moncur isn’t just turning up and sitting in the staff room though, is he? He turns up to training when required. Just because he hasn’t been playing doesn’t mean he isn’t working as per his contract.
You seem to have gone from … “Might have to be paid off, which is ****ty behaviour on his part.” … to thinking his possible decision to stay & fulfil his contract is actually all within his rights but, in your opinion, would be a poor career move rather than “****ty behaviour” So we’re actually in agreement that nothing he has done or may do is actually ****ty behaviour, on his part.

Futbol Arena have a new indepth interview with Tan Kesler on their website at the link below, it is in Turkish' Original in Turkish link:- https://www.futbolarena.com/hull-ci...cun-ilicali-buranin-kurtaricisi-oldu-390985h/ I have stuck it through Google website translator. https://www-futbolarena-com.transla...uto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en-US&_x_tr_pto=wapp
That's a very good interview, I've been impressed with everything I've seen from Tan. The emphasis on a more attacking/possession style of play is exciting, as is a 250 year lease on the stadium.
If he wasn’t turning up to training or taking the piss whilst there then I’d definitely get your point. I think that would be grounds for dismissal without compo in most jobs anyway. I just feel if he’s turning up to training and doing what’s expected of his contract obligations, I can’t really fault him if he wants to continue doing that for a year even if he isn’t knocking on the coach’s door asking for game time. From a fan’s perspective, including my own, he’s deadwood and I think we should sell him but from his perspective, the current arrangement works for him and providing for his family and I can’t knock a bloke for that. I think Steve Bruce is stealing a living these days as a coach but I still think any club daft enough to hire him should pay out the rest of his contract if and when they sack him.
Really thought he was going to call it a day after the **** storm in the North East. Had to give boy wonder his pathway to coaching though
Thanks for putting this up and translating it. Of course, the translation using google throws up some words which are not exactly the right ones, but one phrase that tickled me was talking about Tom Eaves, which was " he had a weak relationship with the ball". Very impressed with Tan Kesler, an astute, intelligent and knowledgable guy, who has his head screwed on the right way.
