I doubt we'll beat them financially, but these guys are driven by wanting to be #1. Fingers crossed he's got a stupidly large promotion bonus that he a archives too.
Beale is certainly a very good Coach if all the glowing references are to be believed, and if he can Do what he Talks. There are so many glowing tributes they are no doubt correct. For me the main risks with Beale are that (1) he has no experience of the Championship which is I think quite different from the PL in a number of ways, the high number of games squashed into a week for 6/7 week or more periods, the lower quality of playing surfaces, and frequently less room at the back to attack in. The Scottish League he was in with Rangers is perhaps closer to the Championship. And (2) that he has no Management Experience in 1st team football. Maybe this is a lesser risk than him not having worked in the Championship. He must have at least seen top Club Management at close hand working for Gerard the last few years. But then I expect there would be a risk side to most Head Coaches that we are able to bring in now.
Still no news on the official site. No thanks. I was half expecting to hear news confirming Beale today, but unless there is an announcement late in the day seems it won't be today.
I understand your concerns ( if they can be described as such), however i think it could just be what we need. Im sick and ever so tired of the same old names that get thrown about when a position becomes available. Take Maclaren as an example, ex england manager but pretty ****ing useless for us. Hughes **** aswell. Holloway, limited. Hasselbank piss poor unless you enjoy 0-0 games. Warbles stubborn as ****. Bring on this new influx of guys like Manning, Beale etc. Im hoping its a breath of fresh air within the game and especially for us.
Hallelujah. Give him until November. Not really. This is the most exciting appointment we have made for years. Might go tits up, but definitely worth a punt.
Fantastic news. Was firmly in the camp of keeping Warburton, and this is exactly the type of appointment that has made me understand their reason for parting ways, and has made me excited again. Great choice. Edit - as a Warbs apologist, it's really nice to see both Beale and Amit reference Warbs so positively in their statements. When was the last time a manager left us and we weren't trying to forget about them ASAP?
As I've already said, young, great reputation for nurturing young talent and experience working abroad...very happy with this appointment.
Well … the job is done and he’s on-board at last. Looks like a good strong appointment at this stage. He’ll certainly get the support of the fans I feel. He certainly has mine. Just have to get past the media stuff now and get cracking on contracts and gaps. It will be really interesting to get the players back and working with him now. Most of all it will be interesting to see who he brings in and what spots he fills (with what players). Hoping for more of the good stuff we saw with MW - a lot less of the poor stuff. Important thing will be to get points up, build confidence and get back that team spirit and never-say-die attitude we had. Good appointment, we’ll done to the board.
