Rivalry aside that is appalling. Plenty of broken hearted kids amongst the people missing out. If this is all true, then I'd lock them up
I've been out late walking tonight and listening to five live and Talkshite. There's been a lot of stuff coming in from Paris about events surrounding the match (literally, being outside). This is going to run and run. I've no love for Liverpool, but I very much love treating people with respect. There were so many stories from different Liverpool fans about incompetence of the authorities and heavy handedness (to put it mildly) from the police. Say what you like about it being Liverpool fans fault, and clearly you're not going to hear much from them critcising their own, but something bad has happened last night. There needs to be a proper investigation, something far more than UEFA sweeping it under the carpet as the fans fault.
Not being there and only going off various reports i can only go off this, the Madrid supporters had no problems and filled there end of the ground before kick off. Was there a difference in arrival times by both sets, did a large amount of Liverpool supporters turn up without tickets and hope to get through the outer perimeter causing blockages or are every police force biased against Liverpool supporters? Not wishing to be judgemental or nasty but they do seem to be involved in this kind of incident far more than others.
French police have a pretty long history of unjustly attacking football fans. Pretty certain Man Utd fans were battered stupid for with no provocative in Lille back in the day.
Seen a lot of Pool fans on social media bemoaning the fact that the Courtois was man of the match and citing all the chances that they created proving that they were the better side. I accept that Courtois was top drawer last night, but of the saves he made only the Mane 1 in the first half was truly outstanding, the reaction to save Salahs shot was a decent stop too, but other than that he was a just commanding figure who did his job better than the Liverpool forwards. All those 23 (?) shots hardly a decent one amongst them and lets not forget they include some spectactularly waywood ones from Keita, Henderson, and Trent. The best 5 (at least) performers on the night all wore the white of Madrid, Carvahals handling of Diaz was a defensive masterclass, Casemiro in the 2nd half was a man mountain that was almost impenetrable and lets not forget that as well the 1 goal they did score Madrid also had a perfectly good one ruled out in the first half.
