Manager contracts mean nowt anyway, if he wanted to get elsewhere we would get compensation but he would still go, if we gave him a 3 year deal still doesnt mean he wont get the bullet if we do badly.

im comfortable with it as long as we back up

Aye. Maybe. As long as he's happy with it and this is not at the insistence of Speakman.

Rolling contract sounds okay, but I can't think of an example where it has worked over a decent spell. And if there is one thing this club needs more than anything, it's a period a stable management, on and off the pitch.

    Here's hoping anyway.

Loads on Twitter saying there’s rumours dumb and dumber have sold up, not sure if people have just seen prehabs post on here or not but if you go on the SAFC hashtag there’s a few saying the same thing

its all people who have seen @Wheatsheaf post which was then copied by a WUM over the road. That WUM then asked Nixon about it who also said he’d heard the rumour (probably read here as well) and now it’s “fact”.

let’s hope so! No reason to doubt the lad. Quite the opposite in fact.

the danger now is all the people coming out of the woodwork copying him pretending they heard as well which makes it sound like a certainty when it likely all came from one source

That last paragraph is exactly what a lad said to me last season.
It made perfect sense then as well.

During the KLD takeover Wheatsheaf, Prehab and Magnus independently posted facts that were disputed by the self appointed elitist clique on RTG.

When the info, on here, proved as accurate as you'd hope it was snidely dismissed as repeating what people on RTG already knew, despite no one posting anything but Doris Stokes style 'there's an A in the name' drivel.

Now, as soon as something new is posted on here again, it's either attacked or its claimed that it was already known to the RTG inner circle.

But the saddest thing is when people try to create friction and division between the two forums. There is no 'forum war'. Plenty post on both or have mates who do. You'd hope any info would be appreciated, from wherever it stems, but some people's egos are all that matters.

Sometimes it's a bloody good idea to shoot the messenger <laugh>

That’s it. With the snippets of info we get, it’s great and the crack is enjoyable.

If anyone wants to come on and just snipe and cause chew, please go and do that somewhere else. The vibe is brilliant at the moment.

No one, on here, expects any info to be cast in stone as negotiations are just that ... talking about options.

Not even KLD knows the full facts because they don't yet exist ...

... the discussions become facts while the signatures dry.

People claiming they know everything don't.

Yeah mate. I am sure when I popped my head out to say that changes were afoot the usual will have been on their slamming me immediately. Then when the sheaf posted the next day with more specific detail, again slammed.

Then media sources post it and it's immediately validated with no apologies. Probably saying that it was a lucky guess. Oh yeah, some timing for a guess like :emoticon-0102-bigsm

    Strange bunch.

Whenever something like a forum endures people begin to believe the persona they've created.

That's especially true of those who appear friendless, housebound and post their expert views on every match thread.

They never go to games so are never told they're talking shyte by another human being as we are. They don't bump into other posters so build them up, in their minds, to be the enemy.

So they end up automatically hating anything posted by 'the other side' ...

... you'd never guess we were all the same Sunderland supporters who hugged each other all over Wembley.

@Prehab26 any idea if the new investment is linked with KLD or Ineos?

The thing about KLD that I really like is his calmness. He seems to be able to take the rough with the smooth. I have no doubt he is very driven, and has high standards, but he seems to have an air of confidence and calmness about him. When he speaks it is with a purpose and clear message, he doesnt seem to feel the need to fill empty silences. I think back to the people I have worked for and it is always those self assured and calm under pressure ones you want to be led by.

I cant help but think we have come up smelling of roses with him at the helm. He just looks the right sort of character - understated but you would worry if you got on his wrong side. I just think he will have huge respect from others in positions of influence and we are really going places thanks to his presence.
