How many would remember that Paul Price got a cup winners medal in this team , Welsh centre back ,also played in the league cup final v liverpool
Have nothing against the guy and nothing bad to say about him but apart from a great performance and result in the City game I have no idea how he made any spurs fan proud...bored definitely...but proud?
I felt sad for Nuno, because he was in a "no win" situation once it became clear that the good stuff during his time at Wolves may have been based on a wholesale grab of players from Portugal who other PL clubs may have been unaware/ignorant of (could not do that at Spurs) .
He must have forgotten to write in his letter the bit saying “and now I’m heading back to Tottenham”. Easily forgiven I suppose, we’ll see you soon, Gareth
He was in a no win situation from day one and frankly was a fool to have taken the position in the first place. Here's a list of reasons he should have said 'thanks but no thanks': - The club was in the absolute doldrums. Games already really toxic highlighted by the debacle on the last game of the season when Levy was very lucky only a few thousand were allowed in. - His and our best player wanted out. - He was our 7th choice and everyone in world football knew it. - His appointment wasn't until early July, which meant he had to go straight into pre season without really having time to assess the mess of a squad he'd inerited. - We would be by far the biggest club he'd ever managed and nothing he'd done with Wolves suggested he was up to the magnitude of the task. It must have been absolute hubris that inspired him to say yes when Levy called. He was on a hiding to nothing from the word go.
