Wow two National Champion teams from Hunsley, I am very proud as an ex pupil. Of course the groundwork was made many many years ago :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Yep, I like to think I made an impact...wow, 19 years ago now. Back when we had to do PE in heavy duty blue reversible rugby tops.

Groundwork? did they ever get the pitches levelled up? I remember playing rugby there and the pitch was a fair old slope.

Ah no that was used as the school field when I was there. We did PE on the field over the road.

That's odd as I was there until 1980 and pretty much all football, cricket and RL was played across the road by the side of the school (dead-end at the bottom now I believe) with the copse in the middle and the disabled school in the far top corner? the pitches down the bottom were pretty flat but there were one or two with a bit of slope going up away from the A63. I think Balkan may be referring to across the road?

Yes that's what I meant. I thought he meant the grass along the front of the Kingston/Tech Block buildings parallel with the A63.

You used to be able to dive for the try line 10 yards short then slide down the slope to score!

By across the road I don't mean the A63, I'm talking about the side road on the west side of the school, there were many pitches across there when I was there until 1980, the ground between the school buildings and A63 was just a general playing field.

Jon Beale is finally back in football, I have never found out why he left us, all seem to happen quickly. Does anyone have any ideas?
