Kewell left for Liverpool in the summer of 2003 and Dacourt joined Roma the same summer.

So we lost our best wide player and arguably our best midfielder and tried to replace them on the cheap.

The same could happen this summer.

The ice cream man could sell out as well as that's happened before.

That’s why we could do with signing Cornet.

If it does at least we won't have to wait till last game of the season for a relegation dogfight, well do it properly like Norwich <ok>

    Afternoon all,

Would love him to stay but Phillips would go to city with my blessing and best hopesfor the future. I think we would see him back to his best under a manager who plays similar to Bielsa.

Really hope we don't sell Harrison. Despite some indiffrent form at times he has been a key player when it comes to goals and assists.

    Afternoon all.
It's amazing how many of the players people are looking to sell.
The squad was too small this season and we'll need a good enough squad to compete with 5 subs next season. We're going to be missing Ayling and Dallas for the start of next season and you can guarantee there will be other injuries.
There is no magic bullet when it comes to signing players as every team has found out, not just us. There are literally hundreds of agents competing for any player of any perceived quality so uncovering another Raphinha is like finding a four leaf clover.
I want to keep all we've got and add new faces. If we get a huge bid for Raphinha or Philips then it's going to be tough but to be looking to have a yard sale to get rid of most of our current squad is utter nonsense.
Who would you buy to replace Philips and how much would they cost?
I hope JM and Orta are convincing Philips and Raphinha to stay.

    Good one Blono.

Think I’d rather have magic wand than a bullet though.

Or are you trying to get rid of Tyler <laugh>

No to Taylor after his antics around refusing to play for us to get a transfer.

Philips will get back to match sharp so must not leave. Any money we get inflates prices and we'll end up with players probably untested in the English leagues let alone the prem and our rebuild is going to be tough enough as it is.

Do we think Cresswell could feature next season. Only seen him twice and been impressed. Also felt less nervous about the defence with him in. Not sure why, perhaps he has the added strength to his game others don't.

Loudest, bossiest player on the pitch and marshalls his defence brilliantly, great head, strong tackler. Going to be full England International and already makes Maguire look like a snail

Aaronson deal is done. Obviously we will now have to wait till June 1st for the transfer to be completed.

Leeds confirm Brenden Aaronson transfer from Red Bull Salzburg on five-year contract

    By Phil Hay

Although a fee was not disclosed by Leeds, The Athletic understands the West Yorkshire club will pay a fee in the region of $28 million for the 21-year-old attacking midfielder. A club statement confirmed that the transfer would be completed on July 1 and remains subject to a work permit.

The deal makes Aaronson Leeds’ first signing of the summer window and will also benefit Major League Soccer side Philadelphia Union, who sold Aaronson to Salzburg in January 2021. It is understood Philadelphia Union will receive a portion of the transfer fee taking him to Leeds as they negotiated a sell-on clause when he moved to Austria.

Aaronson moved to Salzburg to play under Jesse Marsch, the current Leeds head coach. Marsch is also understood to be very close to Jim Curtin, who managed Aaronson in Philadelphia. Aaronson will play in the Premier League for Leeds and Marsch, after they preserved their Premier League status on a dramatic final day of the campaign.

The Premier League club made an initial offer of £15 million followed by an improved offer of around £20 million a few days later, but Salzburg were determined not to sell the United States international midway through the campaign.
