Would be underwhelming to say the least. A player from a club that despite all its talent has never won a Champions League doesn't strike me as the sort we should be looking at if we really have ambitions. We can do better.
'relegation event' Sounds like a surprise party!! 'Oh by the way...wait for it...You've been relegated...' Got a feeling Burnley might just be striding through the championship in the wrong direction. ps....always seen KDB has Billy Askew's love child..
Mustafa Ozat, vice-president of Turkish Super-Lig club Hatayspor claims Hull City have made contact over Saba Lobjanidze and Ayoub El Kaabi. The duo only joined the club last summer but have made more than 30 appearances for the mid-table side.. El Kaabi would bolster Shota Arveladze's strike force having scored 18 goals last season to finish thee campaign as Hatayspor's top goal scorer, while Lobjanidza scored eight times and notched eight assists from out wide. El Kaabi has one year left on his contract after signing a two-year deal last summer, but Lobjanidze's contract expires in the summer of 2024. Ozat claims that Hull have made an approach for both players. However, the vice-president claims a fee has not been agreed, despite the board of directors holding talks about their future. Speaking to Turkish media outlet Ajansspor, Ozat said: “Hull City made offers for Saba Lobjanidze and Ayoub El Kaabi. "We talked about this with our board of directors. However, we have not yet determined a transfer fee.” El Kaabi is a right winger/forward, full Moroccan international and has a goal scoring record of 1 in 2 across his entire career. That's good going. Hints of Grosicki about him. Saba Lobjanidze is a full Georgian international, plays on the left wing and had a very good spell with Randers in Denmark. Very hard to get the ball off. Don't have a video of him from recent, but he's had a good season at Hatayspor.
For those that were perhaps unaware, York City won promotion back to the National League last week (finally). Given that our U23s play there, makes sense to have them take some players on loan. Scarborough took their place in the National League North, would also be a good place to send some youngsters.
No. The rules have not changed. A lot of the players we're linked with aren't actually Turkish anyway. Georgia are ranked 85th for example, but the players we are linked with are full internationals making league appearances and wouldn't struggle to get a work permit.
Scunny, Grimsby too both profited from Harry Wood, Cal Jones and Andy Smith this season. Gateshead may come back too after Matty Jacobs fruitful spell. Likewise Boston after Leake’s.
This has probably been stated and it’s a bit ITK due to the source , but is everyone prepared for the very modest spend of the club due to the owners limited assets? It’s like expecting the Lego Millenium falcon at £400 and getting the£150 one ( based on the grandsons wish list!)
No one knows what to expect, plenty on here seem to think there's quite a bit of money behind the scenes.
Other than HT suggesting prior to takeover that there was big money backing Ajun, I've not really seen mention of this. I thought the majority opinion errred on the side of caution, hoping we didn't spend beyond the club's means. Has anyone else suggest that Ajun has more than the reported £100m net worth? You're always going to get some users who expect us to spunk cash, left right and centre, but I think this is the minority on here. There is an expectation that we spend more than Ehab though.
Someone else (I think 1moreagain) was also suggesting he had big backers, as was Orange. If Acun genuinely only has 100m and he has bought us then he is mental and we will have less funds available than we did under the previous regime. I suspect there's a bit more money than that involved in the club.
What's modest? We've spent £2m on Allahyar already and I can't remember the last summer we spent that. I don't think the spending will be insane, but I think they'll give it a proper go. Going after Seri doesn't appear to be modest though
Ryan Fredericks has just been released by West Ham, he'd be a fantastic addition at RB. Suspect he might get a PL club though
Good shout. Though suspect he'll go to somewhere like Fulham, B'mouth or Forest if Spence is recalled by Mbro. I see Cantwell has been released by B'mouth, if Norwich are looking to offload he might be a decent addition.
