Thanks mate, even though I would love to go straight up, common sense tells me if we aren’t spending a fortune 2/3 seasons slowly building would be far better.
I’m not buying in to the need for serious investment to be able to stay up. We need sensible investment, not serious investment Serious investment done sensibly will be needed to go up again tho.
Winning yesterday was massive for us. Stewart would more than likely left us for one of the many clubs in the Championship that are after him. Dan Neil would probably followed him, and Patrik Roberts would have seen his contract out and probably gone up a tier aswell. Spurs would also not be interested in loaning Clarke to a 3rd tier club again, theyd want him to step it up a level. Yesterday was massive in so many ways, and we pulled it out the bag. Im still in dream land
Bloody foolish to have sold Wycombe fans tickets on either side before filling behind the goal. There is absolutely no doubt that Sunderland fans would have filled all of those empty seats.
I fecking love this pic, its so emotional after what looked like a season ruined on the turn of the year which led to Johnson being sacked. P.s.. Look at the physique on Cirkin. The lads a machine!
Win one lose two gets you a reputation of losing more often than not cf draw three gets the same points but being unbeaten gets you a reputation of being unbeatable so must have a better psychological impact on the players.
In my eyes this excuses the one mistake he made https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spo...ailey-wright-wembley-helicopter-dash-24026474
Thanks for sharing that mate, great article. To hear what he says about Neil is a massive boost, i think deep down we all know what kind of man Neil is though. Its crazy to think people vented their frustration against him when he got confirmed on here only a few months ago, because apparently Keane was going to be the messiah
Had a fabulous two days. What a result, what an atmosphere, what a set of fans and ambassadors for the club and the North East in general. Also great to meet some of the lads off here @Smug @RTB @Sid to mention a few. OAU
Spot on Tees, in my opinion Neil is a level above the managers we have had recently. I remember when Johnson came and he said that he would play attacking football, he even said that we would win a lot of games by 3 or 4 goals but we would also lose a few by 3 or 4 goals. At one time under Johnson we were the highest scoring team in all four divisions but had a poor goal difference. Neil spotted our weaknesses within a couple of games and tightened us up at the back, we don't score as many goals now but we have many more clean sheets. I know it is a controversial thing to say about a club the size of Sunderland in League 1, but I reckon Neil sets his tactics to stifle the opposition and uses his plans B, C & D to beat them from formation changes and from the bench.
