Not completely sure about that. I think he’s been told the same thing from some fans. Be interesting if anyone will admit what they did tell him, but the only difference is that I think Assem was a bit cannier and realised it would indeed split fans up and reduce the volume, and at that point particularly reduce the volumes of the protests, so it was a double win for him. Be seen to be listening to fans, and achieve a quieter crowd amongst the protester's as an added bonus. Maybe I’m giving him too much credit, dunno, but for all I disagreed with him he wasn’t daft
Allams didn’t listen to anybody , I don’t think the fans should be moved and think it isn’t a good decision overall , just don’t think it’s been done for sinister reasons . He is used to boisterous Turkish atmospheres and always looks proper bored at the KC when a camera has panned on him .. and I think he wants it better , he might have been ill advised or thought of it himself but unfair to tar with same brush as Allams for me
Saying that moving fans to the North Stand killed the atmosphere in the stadium is a bit simplistic. Because that move coincided with peak Allam-spite, which also had an influence, arguably a very strong influence, on the atmosphere. I don’t have a particular view on where away fans are located, and I’d be royally pissed off if I was being forced to change seats again, but suggesting the move will inevitably worsen the atmosphere in the future, based on past experience, is not entirely right.
The Allams moved the home fans into the North Stand because he could then charge the way fans more. I doubt Acun is doing this for that reason.
The allams picked up on some supporter's ideas and used it to get the hooligan element out of sight and sound when on the telly.
Allam moved the fans after bannergate - the hoolies couldn't walk across the stand or appear on tv displaying anti Allam protest banners because there is no walkway at the bottom of the stand - nothing to do with better atmosphere, nothing to do with maximising tickets, nothing to do with police requests all to do with the owners being a pair of ****s
There was a survey a few weeks ago, it was posted somewhere on here, even I filled it in and I haven't been for years. There was a specific question about the location of the away fans, I suggested NW corner.
Yeah those ones, not sure how that’s relevant to my original point though. Acun wants home fans behind both goals, he’s reduced the price to soften the blow of having to move. He’s increased the price in the east stand however the kids go free deal should offset that and encourage families into the east
I sit in W11 and I think the away fans could have gone to either NW or SW. Anyway that's the way it goes. I am wondering if I should/could change back to the North stand. Is swearing aloud? Is it optional or compulsory?
