When Kane didn’t win it last season for having the most goals and assists of any player, you just knew Son would be forgotten about this time around. Obviously means Son’s not that good of a player though so no bigger clubs should want to take a look at him in the summer…
I was fairly sure that we were relegated following a mauling at City the previous week...but the article said otherwise and I was too lazy to check it.
Balls, the Ligue 1 matches kick off at8pm, meaning I can't update Loan Watch for a bit I mean I could, but I might forget to update it tomorrow after Nom Belly does nothing of note for Lyon...
Mbappe’s rejected Madrid to sign a bumper 3 year deal back with PSG. I’d imagine they’re fuming, feels like they’ve been looking to offload and not renew certain player’s deals in order to facilitate the move. Their fans had already been buying Mbappe shirts and supposedly sang songs about him… What a shame.
I always remember the number of Man Utd Ronaldinho shirts for sale on eBay a couple of decades ago Entitlement doesn't come with refunds at the club shop
Can you imagine Real Madrid trying to buy Kane? Took them a year of tapping up to land Bale.. for what we demanded. Took Chelsea tapping up Modric and a year for them to get him. No way is one summer enough
Scuttlebutt saying Poch sacked by PSG Scuttlebuttheads chasing Reddit karma suggesting Mbappe's contract lets him hire and fire managers That second part is not a joke
Yeah Romano said earlier that Leonardo and Poch’s sackings are expected after the Mbappe stuff. Felt on the cards Poch was getting sacked though. I think he’ll actually be happy about it too. Don’t think he overly enjoyed it there despite the fact he used to play for ‘em. Dortmund could be a very possible destination for him, that sort of club should suit him to a tee.
1. Decent pay day for him. 2. Slightly kills the "no trophies" Narrative (TM) . 3. Doubt it has "burned his bridges" with PSG 4. Got some experience of dealing with "diva" players for both actual games + club politics.
I wonder if Mbappe will invite Poch into his own office, before explaining to him why he's decided that Poch has to go?
The figures around Mbappe’s new deal are absolutely ridiculous. Another day where the modern game died a little imo.
Dortmund reportedly won't hire any manager who isn't a German speaker, although with Michael Zorc leaving this summer that could change It has to be said that Leonardo has been deeply unpopular with countless figures at PSG, especially with former managers who have been particularly candid about what a pain he is to work with (IIRC Tuchel had quite a bit to say about him a few months back), so I'm not sure if it's Mbappe pulling the trigger or if the PSG hierarchy realised there's a reason why it's pretty goddamn hot near where all that smoke is
Just a painful reminder that in both cases Spurs' hands were weakened by finishing the season with no CL the next season ...
£3m a month (base), £100m signing-on fee, upgraded concessions in image rights, appearance fees, bonuses for goals...it's just a disgusting amount of money. On top of that, he also gets to decide PSG's managerial and sporting director appointments? How are they giving a 23-year old that much power? It just sets a ridiculous precedent and is going to further inflate the market with players making ludicrously excessive demands.
It’s stupid beyond belief. Makes even more of a mockery of ffp (not that anyone took it seriously anyway) and like you say players now will be putting in all sorts of clauses in contracts now the precedent has been set.
Simple answer to that would be for all clubs to have business cards printed with PSG phone number on, when a player starts with the stupid demands just pass the card over shake his hand and say "thanks for your time today".
