Received a letter today from Hull City Council warning me for driving in the bus lanes outside of permitted hours, on the 10th of May. They said they were disappointed in me because the signs are clear, and they've had an extensive publicity campaign telling the public about them. Well they're going to be very very very disappointed when they send out many more letters as I've driven in them most days since then! The lanes don't become chargeable until this Monday, so when the other letters arrive I'll be sending them all back with an appropriate comment, or two. :emoticon-0172-mooni:emoticon-0100-smile

I agree with what you’re saying in theory (apart from the bit about their men ‘getting a grip’ which sounds a little sexist tbh) although it’s all relative I suppose. At least the money they’ve paid will have gone from someone with tens of £millions in the bank doing nothing to some lawyers with only single £millions in the bank. It’s practically socialism when you think about it…(actually it will also gone to some normal people paid normal wages as admin, support, junior legal roles etc)
The main thing I was going to ask, because I’ve heard your point made often and mostly agree with it, is whether Mrs Rooney had any choice? Wasn’t she the one taken to court by Mrs Vardy so would have had to pay to defend herself? I assume if you’re defending yourself in court you’ve already gone through the ‘this is ****ing stupid, what’s the point in taking me to court, it’ll cost us both a fortune’ stage? Maybe I’m missing something?

Apparently, the winner of Rooney v Vardy, goes on to meet the winner of Depp v Heard in the final.

Hi DBT not thought of some things you did reasonable points . As for being sexist I’m not sure really maybe it will to some , but when you are married or have a long term relationship and it’s balanced and rational you should be able to ‘ get a grip’ , either of you , and make the other one see how unnecessary , petty ( whatever description of the circumstance you want) the action might be. The woman can get a grip too it’s not gender exclusive if you want modern terms!!
As for being forced to defend then I will consult my daughter ex lawyer and get an answer. My overall point is that this is totally unnecessary and believe you me 70% of that money will go into the senior partners pockets , the ‘ workers’ get sod all.
By the way I’ve said this before I am of an age where words and phrases and views of mine are potentially wrong to some. I try very hard to be balanced and fair ( unless it’s Hull FC )

Makes compete sense, and I completely agree. It’s usually Mrs T that’s getting a grip of me*

One of the best lines on City Independent was Al Jackson, ' in years gone by if I was out on the lash our lass would pick me up from anywhere, these days she wouldn't pick me up off the bathroom floor.' :emoticon-0100-smile

Whats happened to him? Suspect he fell back out of love with City under the Allams. Wondered once or twice whether he's popped up on here

    Made me laugh …

This trend of idiots running onto football pitches really needs to stop.

It's only a matter of time before someone does it at Old Trafford and gets Man of the Match!!

Only last week I was wondering aloud with a couple of friends on the chances of offering a room and a stunner turning up on the doorstep.
Nah mate, you'd end up with the shot putter.

You offer a room to a specific person, so you can choose a shot putter or stunner as you wish.

You can chose? Going back to the original story, as the couple browsed through the pictures, which one of them said, "this one"?
    The whole thing beggars belief.
