Just play the final without that clubs fans if they invade the pitch in the semis. Too many pricks around nowadays for a celebration not to get ugly. Sad for the majority, but it wouldn't be long before it put an end to it.

It'd only happen once or twice. Obvs clubs would need to limit semi tix to those with purchase history to avoid insurgents in home ends, but they'd be doing that anyway.
Because I like playoffs Besides getting rid of them would just shift the problem to the end of the normal season.
How about addressing the actual issue: that society has produced a certain amount of aggressive, nasty people who sometimes commit violent crimes.

Fair comment. However, top three teams went up before the playoffs were ever dreamed up. I don't recall many or any pitch invasions.
The pitch invasion at the City Ground in 1989 when Clough gave a few Forest fans a good hiding was after a League Cup quarter-final win. Should we scrap cup competitions with knockout stages as well? Utterly ridiculous.
