Good Morning. It's Friday 20th May, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

It's out of our hands now

Everton came from two - nil down to beat Crystal Palace after staging a remarkable second half comeback last night at Goodison Park. The result guarantees their top flight status for another season. Meanwhile, Burnley battled their way to a 1-1 draw at Villa Park. Michael Jackson's side took an unlikely lead on the stroke of half-time after Cornet was hacked down in the penalty box. Ashley Barnes sent the keeper the wrong way from twelve yards.

Although Emi Buendia equalised early in the second half, Villa were unable to find a way past Pope, who continued to pull off a string of World Class saves to keep the visitors in the game. Although level on points, Burnley, superior goal difference gives them a massive advantage. They only have to match the number of points Leeds pick-up on Sunday to guarantee Premier League football next season.

    Odds slashed in relegation scrap

Leading bookmakers Bet365 have slashed the odds for Leeds to go down, following Burnley's 1-1 draw last night at Villa Park. In a two horse race, Leeds are now 4/11 to get relegated, compared to their Lancashire neighbours who are 2/1.

    Will Leeds bounce back up

In the likelihood that nature takes its course on Sunday, what are the chances that Leeds will bounce back up again? Many of the players who won promotion two years ago are sill at the club, but that's not to say they are still good enough to repeat the feat. Over the years, many teams have proved to be too strong for the Championship, and have gone straight back up again, but they have been plenty that haven't.

The parachute payments will obviously give the three relegated clubs an advantage over the rest of the Championship, but we must not forget that Leeds are likely to lose their best players this Summer, and whilst we have some exciting talent in the wings, they were not strong enough for Premier League 2, so how would they fare in a very physical Championship?

Many of the players are now past their prime, and although their experience would be invaluable in the second tier, you have to ask yourself whether Marsch needs to clear the decks, and start again?

Complete balls up of a season for so many reasons. Fed up discussing the ifs nots and maybes. For me, the most important thing is who'll be running the show next season. Current crew can't handle the pl and that's been proven. Can they handle the championship without Bielsa, also proven they couldn't. Are they geniuses at recruiting top class u23's. If you count a success rate of about one in ten then yes. If same crew in charge, mainly Orta, then expect more of the same in whatever division were in. There is one funny side to it though. Foe many years we whinged about how unfair parachute payments were, we might be damn glad of them yet

We could’ve done with a metaphorical parachute to stop us dropping like a stone straight out of the PL.

Someone pulled the chord and the parachute didn’t open. Splat! Championship here we come.

    Morning all,

I've made my peace with the idea of going down, what will be will be.

I know we will lose some good good players if we do but I also have hope that we will still have some decent players left and hopefully money spent well.

My biggest concern is if the rebuild and promotion campaign is left to Marsch. I just have no faith in anything I've seen so far that he is the man for the job.

Not only moaning about parachute payments but some on here claimed that teams that received them were cheats. Oh but of course that doesn't apply to us.

It will be Marsch or similar. Our owners don't do proven PL managers

Question for everyone.... If you were the 49ers investment group would you buy the club outright?.
I would not as it's 400 million and would bide my time.

Massimo Cellino was 100% correct about the fact you just don't know what you're going to get when you employ a new coach. Something about opening watermelons or whatever.

Truth is we had the best coach in a generation and one of our best ever but threw him on the scrapheap at the first bump in the road. If we'd gone down with Marcelo it still would have been beautiful because he's a beautiful human being and he dedicated his life to serving Leeds United whilst he was tasked to do so.

The man made us proud to be Leeds whatever division we may have been in and we'll never have someone of his ilk again.

Not having Marcelo as the coach of our great club and the way he was dismissed after turning the whole club around saddens me more than mere relegation ever would.

    Hi everyone
Two very poor results for us last night :(. Since Marschs appointment we have done reasonably well, however you got to hand it to both Everton & Particularly Burnley, for digging in and showing such resolve, both have done so much better than i ever thought they would.
We pushed the self destruct button at the start of the season, the detonation sequence starting after that first match 5-1 thumping from manure, detonating with that 3-0 tonking at Everton and now we are witnessing the fallout from the huge pre season Blunders, ie extremely poor recruitment, and later suitable tactical changes to address certain matches, all of which was sadly missing, we had such a chance to build on the rock solid foundations the club had gone to such lengths to build. Now it would seem all those hopes and expectations for us the fans, for the next few years, to be a regular top four club have all but evaporated.
we now need a total rebuild for the championship, these players we have i hate to say are poor and not good enough for the championship, with the exception of Bamford, Meslier, Harrison, Geldhardt, and we will need a couple of seasons for the new players to gel. So those of us who would expect an immediate return, imo would be sadly wrong, i now think it will be a long road back, if as looks likely, we are relegated.
Who would in their right minds would have thought that this club could take such a massive step back, after the past couple of seasons of such progress, i am now afraid we will shortly be back to square one.
I hope i am wrong though.

If we recruit wisely buying young talent thenwe will have achance to stay up when we get promoted.I would get rid of Rodrigo KP R apina Roberts Klitch
Give Gelderd a first team place along with Cresswell and perhaps Greenwood and Summerville
At least we have been prudent in cutting the players wages and season ticket sales are 25000 so all is not lost

I heard that Radz won't sell us in the Championship, as its not worth what he'll make on the deal.

Hmm it was a very big bump, more like a mountain, to me when things were going well Bielsa was certainly one of, if not the best coach in the world, but sadly he seemed totally at a loss when things went wrong, as though he was thinking like Mr Spock i have done everything logically in my mind and this shouldn't be happening and couldn't see a way out other than his own flawed logic.
<sorry> that's just my opinion though not everyone's.

The truth is he wasn't the best coach of any Generation. He was overhyped and lasted about 2 years at a club before he was disposed of. We gave him enough time. If the humiliation against Spurs was the first 'bump' in the road were you not around when Arsenal and City but 12 past us in 2 games.

I don't want a coach who is a gentleman and lets the opposition score out of fairness, I want a coach who wants to win.

And still having Bielsa there would be no chance of us staying up. He was an employee of the club and he wasn't performing. We couldn't have a Wenger situation where we go backward and have the same coach for 7 years too long. It was time to go.
