I don’t think it’s that bad as the table currently stands if we managed to get something against Chelsea instead of giving them 6 points we would have swapped places by now. That’s no gulf
The gulf is in the last line of my comment laid bare : PL (current) : Citeh, Poool, Chelsky. CL : Citeh (SF) , Poool (final) , Chelsky (QF) . FA cup : Citeh (SF) , Poool (final) , Chelsky (final) . League cup : Citeh (R4) , Poool (final) , Chelsky (final) . Offhand I cannot remember the state of the England top league being skewed as badly as that for a long time (if ever) .
Pretty sure there was a period between 2004-8 where the then-Sky Four routinely monopolised those spots
On the Norwich game, you can already see a scenario where Sanchez gives a penalty away and gets sent off in the first 5 minutes, just as Arsenal go 1 up v Everton.... You just know it won't be straightforward!
We'll do our best to disrupt things over the next few years. I have a feeling that Arsenal or Chelsea will start to fall away from the top end of the PL and stay upper mid table for years to come (at best).
Them lot have been withering since their absence from the CL (given they are run as a business of their own account) . Chelsky may now be done for if time has caught up with Roman (though I do not want the club itself to go extinct) , but with a history of noxious owners in recent times they do seem to fall on their feet.
As a Chelsea fan this is what concerns me most. We couldn't have gone away to Newcastle, Arsenal, Everton, Leeds, Villa, Man Utd and Tottenham at a better time and yet we're still scraping 3rd in the last week of the season. City and LFC are just so far ahead and Newcastle/Tottenham are chasing our coattails.
No don’t think so. Alisson was fine to do what he did, smart too, could’ve easily ran off and celebrated as the ball potentially trickled over the line.
