I grew up in a place which was very hostile to Gays. I found myself preventing a couple of them from getting bullied. One of them starred in the grade school musical, dressed stylishly and a little oddly, tended to skip, and became nauseated not just at the sight of blood, but at the mention of it.

People tended to tell me their secrets when I was a kid, so I found out earlier than many people that everyone didn't want to date the opposite sex. One girl in high school told me about a night she'd spent with another girl I knew, paused, and said, "Smile like you know what I'm talking about."

There were a lot of Gays in my house in college. I found they ranged from people who most would have confidently called Gay to those they would have assumed were straight. That's one of those topics it's difficult to say anything about without saying something someone might find fault with. In any case, I tend to find people who aren't straight white males like myself more sympathetic.

If humans were not so diverse, which they are in every way it's unlikely that we would be walking upright, talking, inventing and building.
There are a couple of books by Elaine Morgan which for me throw new light on why we are like we are. "The Scars of Evolution" and "The Aquatic Ape Hypothesis"
Our differences is what makes us human.

They've probably already been given an extra 14 points. They are the rich kids given every advantage then spending it all on drugs and booze oh! and women then wasting the rest.

I think it's a fact that this time next year, we'll be far more worried abut Newcastle than Arsenal.

Like City? It's Brighton and Southampton that we should worry about.

    That’s a good point Spurf

Looked at the games we could improve on to get nearer the top and the names are quite under whelming and we should be beating them. I know football doesn’t work like that but my point is we don’t have to build a team ‘better’ than City/Pool. We need to build a team/squad to beat these teams and the rest can take care of itself.

Must take points off Chelsea and United take too many points off us for the rubbish they are.

Apart from that I think we know what to do to shoot up that table…Conte just needs the backing.

I meant of the 2 playing that game. I'm not sure they'll leap that far forward in one year. If we want top 4, Newcastle will be our biggest rivals - depending on what happens to Chelsea in the next few weeks. Liverpool and Man City will be top 2 for a few years yet.

I think we are our own biggest rivals. We have underachieved for a large part of this season as Conte has shown in recent games. We are where we are because United have been awful. A lot is being pinned on the transfer window this summer and the way Conte has marshalled his resources gives me hope for next season. Newcastle will improve and so you would think will United but how fast and how far remains to be seen. I think Spurs can be further along than both of them next season, provided we retain Conte.

Pondering the NL fight for PL 4th place over recent days,
it has IMHO shown the gulf in squad breadth/depth between
the current top 3, and the rest.

Spurs, and them lot,, have a decent best starting XI, but it
only takes injuries/bans to/for a couple of key players,
and the squad as a whole is not robust enough to prevent
a significant drop in performance due to it.

The current top 3 by contrast have managed to be
competitive this season in all competitions.

I remain very concerned at the narrative in the media this morning that we only have to turn up at Carrow Road and the job is done, phrases on SSN this morning like the demise of Arsenal are still premature in my opinion, they should all know that our record of winning 'must win' matches remains poor though these 2 wins in the last few days have shown some metal

Lets hope that with the longest preparation time available Conte gets the required mentality instilled this is not a given.
