Not a chance you will be that bad in the second half. I have the feeling that was the half for Newcastle, they'll tire as the game goes on and you'll probably sucker punch them against the run of play.
the pressure really got to this team. We havnt been in this game all night. Not really sure who to blame. It is what it is.
I do think that decision was wrong. Im not sure why it happened before season's end (I wouldnt have given him an extension regardless if he didnt get us top 4.)
Quite frankly, what would that team be doing in the Champions League? You have Nketiah leading the line? Hopeless manager, clueless owners and garbage players!
The truth is with having Lacazette and Nketiah as our only two strikers, Top 4 was a a hope more than anything. It was always a case of tripping over the finish line. If we really wanted top 4, we needed to show it with recruitment. Not that it would have given us CL, but it would have at least shown our ambition.
I believe in the league weve only ever done it against Wolves at home. outside the league, I can think of the Chelsea FA Cup final and the Europa tie against Benfica.
This is FOR SURE something Arteta needs to drastically change if he is going to succeed. Our record with going behind is atrocious.
I would also say the fact we look completely burnt out - weve played one game a week this season and we look completely out on our feet.
We ain't winning this (or even drawing). Still 10 minutes to go. We've bottled it, plain and simple. Not sure what the ramifications are for next season, but our lack of bravery and apparent lack of motivation lie squarely with the manager. In a must win game, we sat back and allowed ourselves to be dictated to. Europa it is.
Well, we’ve blown it. Really, really disappointing. Thought we’d go out and grind out a result, but it was a predictably limp and pathetic performance in a game we needed to prove our critics wrong. And we didn’t.
this game is a great example as well of how insane it is that we are giving the likes of Elneny and Nketiah new contracts. For what reason? They are average mid table Premier League players even if they do a job every now and then. If we ever want to move up and to the next level, we cannot be keeping players like that.
