After his success with the Gas, the betting markets now have Joey Barton as 11/8 favourite to take over at Burnley.

Burnley next manager odds: Joey Barton favourite after huge price SLASH overnight, Wilder, Rooney and Kompany in behind (thesun.co.uk)

Didn't really want him in the first place, but now he's performed a "footballing miracle" I'd like to see him stay with us for another couple of seasons and see where we can go. However, that's now beginning to look unlikely.

What do you think about the prospect of him leaving and who could we get in to replace him?

I think he will show loyalty to Wael Al-Qadi our owner and stay, but if he does want to test himself at a higher level and we cannot persuade any of the current management team to stay then I would like to see Lee Mansell given a chance

From everything he's said, the way this season has gone and his long term plan I would be surprised if he jumped ship just now. He aged a few years when things weren't going so well, and I'm sure the memories of thinking he would get the sack are still quite raw. Sometimes you just want to enjoy coming in to work, and I think he probably enjoys being at the club. If he goes, things would unravel pretty quickly so I would like to see him stay for another couple of seasons.

That's good news Couttsy! But it is a bit worrying when the betting markets have him odds on as the next Burnley manager!

I will be surprised if he goes. He handed his notice in at his lowest and Wael stuck with him. Not only stuck with him but supported him with signings and supported him when it came out about the allegations of beating his wife. How many clubs would have done that? If he decides to go to a championship or prem team then I would understand that he would want to challenge himself at a higher level but I think he owes Wael some loyalty. We've seen though many times in football that loyalty is difficult to come by so will be interesting to see what happens.

Personally I don't care if he goes or stays. I don't like him so would be happy if he goes but at the same time he has proved me wrong as a manager and he has started something now and would be a shame not to see it out.

Article on Bristol Live by JB stating he is NOT leaving and again thanks Wael for his support and saying that is why he is not leaving. So maybe loyalty isn't dead after all

Can't see him going yet. He knows how tough it is at the top, and he's smart enough to know that he can learn and develop for a couple more years at a club which has looked after him. I think he'll take us to The Championship in a year or two and then he'll move somewhere like QPR or Burnley. On the other hand, if this non existent new stadium ever got traction then that might change things, but we all know that's never going to happen.
