It's starting early, as it seems tabloids are anticipating Promotion for us. Here's a list White Noise on twitter came up with of rumours Manor Solomon, FC Shakhtar Donetsk (W/AM) Caio Vidal, Sport Club Internacional (Brazil) (W) Alphonse Areola PSG (WHU) Nick Pope Burnley (GK) Neco Williams (Liverpool) (FB) Matt Targett Newcastle (Aston Villa) (FB) Alessio Romagnoli A.C. Milan (DF) Joe Gomez Liverpool (CB/FB) Rafael Ramos Santa Clara (FB) Son Jun-ho Shandong Taishan F.C. (CMF) Jordy Caicedo CSKA Sofia (ST) Morgan Gibbs-White Sheffield United F.C (Wolves) (AMF) Dapo Afolayan Bolton Wanderers (W/ST) Khaled Narey Fortuna Düsseldorf (MF) Mario Balotelli (ST) Jack Rudoni AFC Wimbledon (MF) I'm expecting most are pie-in-the-sky and agents I think most of us would go for Areola - N.Williams - Targett if true but I don't expect Gomez to leave Liverpool. Un-tapped Korean and Japanese players market as a lot do well in the German leagues and Celtic have brought a few through.
So far on the home front We Have Given Tim Ream and Neeskens Kebano an extended year on their contracts. This is good as I believe both are worthy squad members. A Lot of fans will say Ream is not up to it, but I'd counter that by saying, it's taken Fulham a lot of seasons to find a Center back parring, I'd say we need a more defensive minded left back so as not to expose Ream having to cover that area. Manor Solomon has been reported as being signed to play left midfield from Shakhtar Donetsk for a bargain price, so Kebano will have strong competition for his place. And we are looking to give Tosin a new improved contract as his is up for renewal in summer 2023. Not sure how true it is that he has a transfer fee that can be trigger until June 2022, so expect a lot of paper talk about a move if it's right. But he seems settled in the team and would probably be 1st choice CB for Silva. Contracts are up in 2022 Fabri Alfie Mawson Michael Hector Jean Michaël Seri Tyrese Francois Fabio Carvalho (Liverpool) Contracts are up in 2023 Tosin Adarabioyo Paulo Gazzaniga Joe Bryan Nathaniel Chalobah Josh Onomah Bobby Reid Anthony Knockaert How many of these are in Marco Silva's future plans ?
I can't see us having more than £50m (net) to spend. With this we need to sign: CB, CM, LW, RB and maybe also GK if Areola is available. It seems like Soloman will compete with Kebano for LW and hopefully we can land Neco Williams if Liverpool sign Ramsay. Those two would cost c£20m and, with £12m to hopefully spend on Areola, would represent half our spend. Of those you named SBM, I expect Fabri, Mawson and Francois to move on. I think we have an option on Seri and Hector and given our lack of squad depth we should exercise it. Hopefully we can generate some additional cash from selling Knockaert & Onomah, but I suspect that might be fantasy. It would also be good to see young players like Larkeche, Hilton & Harris getting some exposure to the first team squad. With the probability that Anguissa will be leaving, replacing him with a strong, athletic DM should be a priority. I would expect Cairney/Seri/Decordova-Reid/Reed to cycle through the two spots in front of that DM, but we really lack physicality outside of the otherwise limited Chalobah/Onomah. The final spend will have to be on a LCB to take over from Ream. I'm glad Ream is staying (he's a great guy and a team leader), but there's no getting around the fact he turns 36 during next season. Our scouting network pulled some blinders last time around (Andersen & Tosin) so hopefully they work some magic again. I suspect a player like Ndicka is out of our price range but perhaps someone like Clarke-Salter, Saliba or Lascelles (if Newcastle continue to spend heavily) could fit the bill without breaking the bank?
Those on their way, and those offered a new contract, official club news..... The Club can confirm that the following players will leave Fulham following the expiry of their contracts at the end of June: Cyrus Christie Fabri Michael Hector Alfie Mawson Jean Michaël Seri Timmy Abraham Jacob Adams Eric Ameyaw Xavier Benjamin Tyler Caton Jerome Opoku Jonathon Page Julian Schwarzer Jaylan Wildbore The Club option has been taken in the contracts of the below players, tying them to Fulham until the summer of 2023: Sonny Hilton Idris Odutayo Adrion Pajaziti Offers have been made to the following out-of-contract players: Tyrese Francois Steven Sessegnon Taye Ashby-Hammond Imani Lanquedoc Georgios Okkas Ollie O’Neill Oliver Sanderson Jay Williams
I'm a little surprised that we released Seri, although I suspect the value (wages vs. contributions) wasn't there from Silva's point of view. Hector leaving is probably for the best, but now we need to find at least 2 CBs. I'm all for clearing out player Silva doesn't want, as long as we get the required level of replacement in. Time for the recruitment team to show their worth!
I'm not surprised about releasing Seri. Up till this season, he'd been a moody player and not really committed to the club when we were previously relegated. Couldn't see the club giving him a long contract and I couldn't see him being happy if the club had taken the option of extending for a year. Not sure how true the rumour was at the time we bought him, but it was leaked that he suffered from painful arthritis in cold weather and wasn't happy about coming to England. Updated list of recent transfer rumours! . Solomon . - Not a done deal as it looks like his agent is touting him around again with Spurs interested Al-Musrati . MF Braga - A strong rumour that he is in talks with the club. Fredericks . RB WHU - this rumour was started when a tweet asked Fulham fans to name a player who they'd take back. Masuaku . LB WHU - not getting game time at West Ham Tarkowski . CB Burnley - You'd expect him to be on the radar of a few clubs now Burnley have been relegated Boudaoui . MF Nice - Young Algerian who plays Right Midfield Targett . - LB Aston Villa - Surplus to Villa and may be wanted by Newcastle. Matic .- MF Man Utd - Unwanted at United 33 years plays DMF Serbian connection. Caicedo . MF Brighton - Can't see Brighton letting him go 20 year old Almiron . Of those we've been linked with so far, I am most excited by the Al-Musrati rumour. He's exactly the type of player we need to come in and add steel in the middle of the park. I would be a bit more comfortable with a midfield of Musrati, Reed & Cairney/BDR than I was with Anguissa and Seri. It appears that we are trying to be a bit smarter about agents fees this year (we've been taken for a big ride in previous seasons), but the end result of that is hold ups on the proposed deals for Strakosha & Soloman. Hopefully we have plenty of other suitable targets to go to if certain agents do try and overcharge us. I would like any of Bassey, Worrall or Tarkowski alongside Tosin, but I just don't know how realistic any of those signings would be. I still expect that we are more likely to get a second level target like Lascelles (i.e. pick up a player that is replaced by one of the top targets we miss on). I like that we are targeting earlu signings, but this window is really going to drag on!
Hey, I like Fulham so as much as I want us to be rid of Lascelles and Shelvey my advice is to stay well clear of them.
No chance of signing Bassey, He is destined for greater things, no insult implied. He is one of the best defenders I have seen for a long while and while I would love him to come to Chelsea I think them "up norf" will step in and grab him.
As an update to Rumours as we get closer to 1 July when things normally get moving on contracts being signed. Latest Rumours Bernd Leno from Arsenal Kevin Mbabu from Wolfsburg Alessio Romagnoli from Milan Signed for Lazio 12/07/22 Joao Palhinha from Sporting Signed for Fulham 4/07/22 Djibril Sidibé from Monaco Updates Targett gone to Newcastle. Matic gone to Roma Fredericks gone to Bournemouth It would seem the Solomon deal is dragging on with no real conclusion. Liverpool have asked for £15m for Neco Williams (not worth that) Al-Musrati from Braga, Sevilla showing interest. Youngsters Taye Ashby-Hammond to Stevenage 1yr Loan Sonny Hilton to Carlisle Utd on 1yr Loan (I thought he'd get subs bench this season) Xavier Benjamin has joined Cardiff City on a 2 year contract Jerome Opoku has joined FC Arouca (Portugal) on a free
Thanks for the updates. I wonder how close some of them are. I'd feel more comfortable once I've seen a couple of good additions.
First in this morning! I'm very pleased with this. Fulham Sign Palhinha https://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2022/july/04/fulham-sign-palhinha/
Palhinha is a very good signing, the type of player who is a defensive enforcer. Would like us to get the defence sorted as soon as possible to allow them to gel together. From the weekend media it looks like Leno from Arsenal is close to signing and Andreas Pereira from United is also nearing completion. Mbabu from Wolfsburg is also a possibility from the rumour list above. The Solomon saga continues with reports that FIFA rules on Ukraine Lge players mean loan deals only will start on 1st Aug. Think this is FIFA trying to protect the Ukraine Lge from being taken advantage of and have put Transfers on a years hold.. Many more rumours but no real substance behind them Jean Michaël Seri has signed for Hull on a free. Should do well, but there were always rumours about him getting severe arthritis in his joints in cold weather so wonder how he'll coup in Hull. Christie, Hector & Mawson still without a club. No news on bids Knockaert or Onomah But Kongolo rumours are a couple of Dutch clubs interested. Steven Sessegnon has been loaned to Charlton after signing a contract extension. A total of six Academy players have signed professional contracts https://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2022/july/07/Six-Pro-Contracts-Signed/ Juventus midfielder Kristian Šekularac and striker Callum McFarlane from Bradfield College have joined the U21 squad. From what I gather Ollie O'Neill has signed a new 3 yr contract (but I was wrong about being loaned out to a Croatian club. as he went to Portugal on the U21s tour ) No news on Tyrese Francois signing a new contract, but he has been playing for Australia u23 National team in the summer.
And now we have signing No.2, we are picking up some real quality.... Pereira Joins Fulham https://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2022/july/11/andreas-pereira-joins-fulham/
Does look very good, you see a lot of You Tube crap making players look better than they are but this lad does seem to have something special about him.
Update Joao Palhinha from Sporting Signed for Fulham 4/07/22 Andreas Pereira from Manchester United Signed for Fulham 11/07/22 Manor Solomon was seen in Fulham shirt during Portugal pre-season training but no Confirmation due to FIFA ruling. Bernd Leno from Arsenal it would seem that player has agreed terms but clubs have not. Kevin Mbabu from Wolfsburg It would seem Clubs have agreed fee Player is supposed to be having medical soon but has not agreed to sign yet. Issa Diop from West Ham no agreement yet, West Ham waiting to sign player before letting go, but fee asked £17m too high for Fulham Djibril Sidibé from Monaco is a free agent but has asked too much Tyrese Francois has signed a new contract for 2 years. A distinct lack of Centre-backs being talked about, which should be our Priority if we are letting Mawson, Hector and Kongolo leave. Not sure how credible this rumor is but Fulham are preparing to resign Cyrus Christie. IMO he's still a good RB/WB and would be good cover
