Was in interesting comment on the anniversary of Newcastle’s last cup win, which was against City. Strange that it should be mentioned in pre game commentary anyone care to tell me how many years…..I forgot.
have been fantastic since the season t he y went on an amazing run to stay up. Seem well setup for Yoof, but the physio team is letting them down. have punched for a few years, maybe a bit stale under Rodgers?
67 years since a last trophy for a club like Newcastle is pretty staggering given the size of them and the crowds .
If it does happen it'll make it more special.. It's of course now just an IF, but it wasn't even an IF the past 20 years of those 67. I'll never believe nufc will ever win anything regardless.
Yeah you never know prob need a kind run in a cup comp then an outstanding final performance . It nearly worked for Hull City and did for Wigan and Pompey
I think when they gave a European spot for the fa Cup winners it put paid to the lesser clubs winning it. I'm pleased we've got a bit of clout now and I'm sure we'll get closer and have better days, but everything is now set up to prevent another Chelsea or City type scenario. There's so many clubs with money now and they still can't get near the top. Unless FFP is ditched I don't think that'll change.
It's strange but I can remember in the early 90s the pundit etc saying its 30 years since newcastle last won anything... Its amazing how quickly you start hearing 40 then 50... I love a screenshot so I'm hoping nufc win one in the next 37 and Everton don't, so I can punish Peej
FA Cup winners have had a European place since the early 1960s. It used to be in the European Cup Winners Cup until around the late 1990s when they got rid of the competition and the FA Cup winners went into the UEFA Cup .
I was reading about trophy droughts. Our 30 year wait for a title is **** all compared to some of the others
Thats in their Interests to do so. But it was never really on anyway, and certainly not after ydays draw
