mark bowen turned down afc wimbledon's manager post. says he wants to take a post up elsewhere. i think this is where we may end up
“We then had an interview panel, which included a senior football expert and Dons Trust Chair, Kris Stewart, representing our owners, the Dons Trust membership." I wonder who the ‘senior football expert’ is. Sounds like someone we need
be interesting to see if he goes into a straight 3-5-2 regardless of who's available. Love the guy to bits, but 3-5-2 when all the strikers are injured and the two up front are Leko and a barely-ready-for-league-1 Burstow was a pretty wild thing to try, and served up just what most people outside the club would have guessed - a string of defeats, albeit against better teams. Don't think you can really say he wasn't allowed to manage, unless you've got a new source?
JJ is only learning of course. And perhaps he hasn't got the balance between being decisive and being flexible quite right. What is certain is that he is a top bloke. I know we all agree on that. A guy who brought pride to CAFC for many years.
No source, just going by the January transfer window. I think our problems have been in midfield, and I wonder how Jacko would have done if he'd been allowed to bring in his own players. Guess we'll never know.
Last season I think only our goalkeeper wasn't a problem. We had defensive problems, Certainly midfield problems - most of it going missing for whole games And we had problems up front. Goal tally far too low. In short, on any given day 8 or 9 of the team weren't really at it. That's far too many. Flashes of individual effort & skill yes. But not a coherent enough team. So often at the Valley opposing teams just moved and linked up better than we did.
