Have to say from the 40 or so minutes I watched the ref was very one-sided, some strange decisions...
For all their domestic brilliance city can't crack European Cup.... oh dear how sad never mind.... You can't buy class....
Should have been 5 or 6 minutes at the end of ET, but they didnt even play the three indicated. City beaten by pure will to win.
It's odd. They are without doubt a better side than Real Madrid, but they now seem to have some kind of psychological block with regards to Europe. Having said that, Madrid just never know when they're beaten and have that know-how in Europe.
Don’t like any of these clubs much, but much prefer Carlo and Klopp to Guardiola. I would expect Liverpool to win on overall quality, but they have a string of massive games now, whereas Madrid have nothing else to prepare for. I hope Citeh collapse in the league. Their journey to complete corrupt plasticity has been even faster than Chelsea’s.
Think city shot themselves in the foot by taking off Mahrez, Jesus & KB just after they scored, didn’t watch it
Exactly this, De Bruyne has been carrying an injury for a few weeks but to take off all 3 was crazy. Sterling was invisible when he came on, something not right there and can see him leaving at end of the season. Still an unbelievable finish to score those 2 goals in added time after previously not having a shot on target in 90 mins !
Yeah, for all his brilliance, I don't much like Pep and have never really had much time for City. When we had our brief dalliance with the premier league, their fans were complete arseholes. I've always had a soft spot for Liverpool, since the days of watching their great sides with my dear old Dad, who was actually a Spurs man but had kind of switched to Liverpool as well. Those European cup nights were fantastic and they had some brilliant players. I too like Carlo and really like Klopp. I wouldn't write off Madrid because of Carlo's record and their know-how in the competition, but if Liverpool turn up, they should be too good for them imo.
Yeh it’s weird … I never really warm to Citeh. Klopp is a real fans manager, very street wise and superb at building a team over time. No quick fixes he just keeps building brick by brick, layer by layer. Not a big ‘pool fan but he’s done an amazing job. Only just seen the Madrid result … WTF!
That’s a coincidence, my old man was originally a Spurs fan as well. He was born and grew up in Walthamstow, and watched Spurs a lot in the forties and fifties. But his family migrated west and when it came to taking me to see a game he couldn’t be arsed to trek across London to Tottenham and we ended up at QPR….odd for me because I can’t imagine switching (though I do follow more than one club) but I’m ****ing glad he did….. I’m afraid I never really appreciated Liverpool in their 70s and 80s pomp, they just won too much, though their achievements were in some ways more impressive that the teams that dominate now, because the money side was more equal. Quite impressed by the English representation in European semi finals this season. Looking at the line ups the European Conference League Losers Cup of Nothing Inaugural Spurs Memorial Cup League is a stronger competition than the Europa League this season. Come on you Foxes. Big ask, Roma fan I work with told me earlier that this is their biggest match for years, stadium sold out instantly and Mourinho has been winding the fans up into a frenzy.
The Germans always sing brilliantly and consistently. A Fox mate who is there just sent me a video of the Stadio Olimpico in Rome a minute before kick off. Fevered doesn’t do it justice. Site doesn’t let me post it here for some reason.
Cresswell sent off for West Ham after 20 minutes. They're ****ed. Roma 1 up against Leicester. Rangers have gone level on aggregate.
