A number of tabloids are running this story now, about Lee Clarke and Kevin Keegan taking the reigns. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...an-Lee-Clark-replace-Sven-Goran-Eriksson.html http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...-for-shock-return-to-boss-Leicester-City.html
They are as good as any other option/options that have been floated about this week and probably preferable to most. I obviously have a preferance for some people and not others just as all folk do but already i am over this speculation and just want to get on with football again
That Director of Football title is an interesting one and it's a role that is pretty much ever-present in the top European football teams but it's never seemed to work in English football. The only exception I can think of is Barry Fry at Peterborough. I reckon that Top wants Keegan to be 'the name' behind Leicester City as someone who is recognised worldwide and help push LCFC the brand. It would be interesting to know exactly the role he would have because I thought we had Andrew Neville performing a similar role within the club. It is important though that the DOF has a good relationship with the manager because otherwise it will never work. The good thing is that Clark and Keegan have worked together before so I'd imagine they'd have a pretty good working relationship. Keegan will also know what makes a good DOF given he had an awful relationship with Dennis Wise when he performed that role at Newcastle. On Clark, I originally had him up there on my list but, after Hudds fans said that he had failed to get a strong team that was expensively assembled up three seasons on the bounce and he is a bit tactically naive, I'm not so sure. Seems to have a bright future ahead of him no doubt, but is he what we need at this time? There are better options out there IMO. Wouldn't be a disaster if this is what we ended up with by any means, but I think there are better managers we should turn to first.
Would say yes to both... but would be sorry for Huddersfield as went to Uni there and would love to see them and us in the Premiership.
Keegan will spend loads of dosh and win nothing just like he did at Newcastle . most over rated manager ever. Your not having NP back either .
If you're looking for a double act with Newcastle connections I think Ant & Dec would fit in perfectly with the comical set up at Leicester.
