I never considered them but anything's possible. They're both six points ahead of us with a massively better goal difference so essentially we'd need one of them to lose all three remaining games for us to have a chance of overhauling them. They play each other next, so points dropped whatever happens. A win for either makes them virtually uncatchable, but for whoever loses (assuming it's not a draw) makes for an interesting run in.

Brentford lose. They then play Everton, so one of them will be dropping points. Then they play us last game.

Southampton lose, then they have tricky games against against Liverpool and last day away at Leicester.

    All to play for.

Twists and turns to come for sure.

As Doc said at the weekend, it's entirely possible Burnley don't pick up another point...unlikely but possible.

We're (possibly) fortunate that Soton play Brentford next so they (hopefully) won't both play for the draw. I think I'd prefer a Soton win so that Brentford have to go for it at Everton in their next game.

I didn't want to comment, but I'm personally insulted by your comments because I've personally put a lot of time blood sweat tears and money into the club. I'm going to leave it at that. <grr>

If the club had followed on with some ground redevelopment as promised some of us would be able to get to more games. After all over 20k of us paid for the privilege of joining a season waiting list for imaginary seats and the now virtually worthless memberships. Most continue to pay, surely that qualifies as support

You certainly have Shaks and so have many thousands of others.

All I’m doing is stating the facts. Let’s say we have one million fans worldwide then probably only about 10% of those spend time and money supporting the club.

It is what it is and wasn’t meant as a criticism of anyone.

How many fans have sky subscriptions. That goes towards the club also in the form of the end of season lump sum payments. I suspect that’s a substantial figure. In fact last season we got approx 160m from SKY. That's all subscription money, the vast majority overseas

Let's imagine for a moment that the club was fan owned and we had one million registered fans from all around the world. Then every transfer window the club says we need £100M so every fan is asked to contribute £100 to the cause.

Does that sound interesting and equitable ?

All the Sky money and match day income from tickets sales etc would then pay the wages and fund the club with any profits used to improve facilities and/or boost the transfer pot.

You could extend the idea and do away with season tickets and devise a system where all registered fans have equal opportunity to attend matches. Increase ticket prices slightly with the extra revenue going towards the expansion of ER so that more fans can attend and so on.

    Afternoon all

After a horrible football bank holiday weekend I thought I would avoid any heavy debate today and just enjoy today away from it all

Checking in to say hello and Eire beat me to what I was going to write, I pay Sky over 1k a year, I have IPTV that gets me the games not on Sky, I could cancel Sky but I don't as I like to watch in the best possible picture quality

Then the Agents get to know the full facts. They and the players still bleed the club dry and nothing changes.

Evening all. It was a ****e weekend for us.
I think it would have been a very different outcome if we hadn't lost Coops in the warm up. Not only is he the voice we've been missing at the back but it meant a last minute reshuffle before playing one of the best teams in Europe.
I don't think Firpo was as bad as some say but I think, if we play 3 at the back, Harrison and Raph would give us more options as wing backs, especially since we're struggling to score.
I do still think that our biggest problem is composure. It used to be just in the final 3rd but it has infected us everywhere now. The Rodrigo break totally summed our problem up. He has an age to play the ball to Raph but just doesn't. It's so frustrating but I'm not sure you can teach composure.

I disagree. Cooper certainly isn't a game changer, and more times than not, he's got a mistake in him. He does add some stability and he is our best headerer of the ball.

He is also vocal at the back and organises our defence. Look at the stats for goals conceded with and without him. He was a very big miss.
A good header of the ball might have been very important for that first goal too.

"When Cooper has played, Leeds have picked up 21 points from 18 games at a rate of 1.17 points per game. Without him, United have earned just 13 points from 16 games at a return of 0.81 points per match. They also averaged 1.28 goals conceded per game when he has played and more than three per game when he has not, an absolutely glaring comparison.

"With Leeds only a place above the drop for now, they will be crying for Cooper to return immediately to ensure that ever-nearing concerns of relegation do not get too serious."
