We have just moved to Nuneaton from Ashford as commuting to work on HS2 is beyond me at 63 years old. I've done it for 2.5 years and that's enough. Getting home at 10 on Friday Night and travelling back on Sunday afternoon is no fun. Nor is living in digs. Being home with the family in the evening is worth losing the grand a month subsistence. I've worked away for 15 years now. A benefit of the move is that the mortgage, the credit cards and the car loan are sorted thanks to the house sale. A wonderful feeling. The house is less than 7 miles from the Coventry ground and about 15 miles from Villa Park. I'm not renewing my Spurs Season ticket until Levy goes or invests in the playing staff therefore a season ticket for Coventry at only £345 is tempting. What do people think? Might just get out to watch Wasps as well.
If you have the money, and feel altruistic, you could renew the ST and then sell at "cost" your seat to supporters for games you are not going to attend (if Spurs do qualify for the CL next season it would be silly to "cut your nose off to spite your" face when some epic encounters may arise) . < YMMV >
I haven't renewed for three years now, perhaps my post was misunderstood. I probably couldn't renew for next season if I wanted to, I should have said I'm not planning to try to renew. I don't want to legitimise the ENIC regime. They have done some great things with the stadium rebuild, but a little more support for Poch would have resulted in Trophies IMHO.
My old man played for Wasps in the 60's and early 70's. He fully expected and intended his sons to do the same. Our collective disinterest and their later move away from Vale Farm were huge blows to him and his view of the world. I'm still a fan of the club but Coventry's a real problem for me too.
Sounds like the pre match song " Can't smile without you " is going down like a lead balloon How about this, if this don't fire up the team and crowd nothing will
It’s never felt like a pre-match song to me. I like it as a post match but it doesn’t get the blood pumping.
I agree with you. As far as I’m aware, it was always played at the end of the last home game of the season, it was certainly the last song played at The Lane The Finale. There was no need to change from the Glory Glory Tottenham Hotspur song, but there was also no need to try and replace Paul Coyte. As the old saying goes, if it ain’t broke then don’t try and fix it.
I love the can't smile without you song... in its right place. It was genuinely moving to hear it as the last song at White hart lane. It's a good one to end the season on. But it is bloody awful to walk out to imo. Like others have said, Glory Glory Tottenham Hotspur or When the Spurs Go Marching On are the only logical choices imho.
