I love your optimism and positivity Ossie. I'm not sure I share it, but it's a refreshing antidote to some others on here.
Think I'm in agreement. We can't really know how much Eustace is his own man, but it's the impression I get from the limited bits I've seen from him. And he is clearly highly thought of with the Swansea approach and the Ireland gig. He'd know exactly what Warburton has done well, and where it's not worked - which can sometimes be easier to spot from a #2 position. Who knows, but I share some of your optimism. Wouldn't it be nice if they pick him and it works out well? Having a #2 who is ready to step up and succeeds would be a good sign of a well run club.
My next door neighbour was Eustaces player liason officer (whatever the **** that is) at Derby County. Still best mates to this day. Ironically, i only found this out the other week when gardening in an old binatone sponsored away shirt. Will see if he can get any gossip and if not i will just make some up to keep us going.
What optimism and positivity? I don't feel it when we get rid of the best Manager since Warnock. But the progress and entertaining football we produced under Warburton can be continued from within with Eustace, or with a very good external replacement who would continue with our way of playing when we had our first team available last year. That replacement may not be so easy to find though at what we can afford. Possibly when Eustace turned down Swansea to stay with us, he had an inkling his career might progress with us, or maybe he just likes being at QPR. Either are good.
Looks like Manning, Eustace and Rowberry are heading the new manager stakes. All seems a bit early to be putting Manning in the odds and Rowberry seems a big gamble. Which puts Eustace in pole position right now it would seem.
I agree, Manning looks like hes taking Mk dons up, Rowberry currently sits mid table in league 2, leaving Eustace leading the pack.
That’s a long way from Wycombe. GA always strikes me as a bit of a home bird being settled in the South now for 20 years. He’s going to have to take a ‘next step’ move at some point to upgrade his credentials. He’s done a fair job at Wycombe over his 10 years there and been rewarded with loyalty from his board despite relegation from the Championship. Of course Blackburn is his birthplace so could be a draw if he still has ties there. Still keen to see him do well and be successful. Blackburn don’t seem to be in that bad of a situation to come in but he would be under some pressure to get a play-off place in his first season.
He's a Northern lad, but didn't he play for Preston? Not sure how that would go down in Blackburn.........
I wonder if coming up against Sheff Wednesday or Sunderland in the play off final might be too much for MKDons. Then the cats amongst the pigeons regards the new manager front
They've got to get past Wycombe first, they're the form team going into the play-offs. You have to feel sorry for Plymouth who finished with 80 points and didn't make the play-offs such is the form of the top six...
