I think we now have to accept the inevitable. Despite a good first half we didn't get the second goal and ran out of steam in the second half. Congrats to Burnley they look like the will survive. Commiserations to Norwich, see you in the Championship.
So predictable after a decent start . We lacked energy ,desire , pace , skill and it seems subs in the 2nd half . I mean we really don’t have any bottle or heart do we sadly ?
I guess we can take the lack of subs used to mean that at least eight of those on the bench today won't be here next season.
Cannot give them much hope for the future. Mind you the bench was hardly filled with players likely to change much - Sema, Kalu, Gosling, WTE. Probably the sort that might well go.
It occurred to me today that me and my son are in a (probably) small group of supporters who haven’t missed a home league game this season (out of loyalty/madness we’re going to make all 19 with Everton and Leicester) but also haven’t been to an away game so have missed any of the fun at Villa, Soton, Norwich and Everton. Unfortunately we’re the unlucky sods who have witnessed this season at its wretched worst. Ho hum
We sit in the Family Stand and I just want to see a game where the away team don’t come over celebrating at the end of the match. It’s just the norm that that’s what happens now.
One small consolation, we can relegate EVARton when we play them in May The players looked tired and unfit in the last ten minutes but it is probably mental exhaustion after the last couple months, we should have made three substitutions on 70 minutes Sarr looked lost,Pedro was running out of ideas and Sissoko was losing possession too easily King for Pedro, Kalu for Sarr and Sema for Sissoko, not what you would call improvement but fresh legs to try and put Burnley on the back foot again
I prefer The Championship. This scrambling to get a point here and there is tedious. There are some good sides in that division. See you next season lads.( And probably Everton too).
I am gutted we are going down, but all this situation that situation, not over yet bollockes. We´ve been gash all season and even I can see that. DOWN WE GO. Simples.
