Some matey was chant/ranting about our ‘****ing **** manager’ in the bogs on the way out. I am still Ralph in, but I feel there is a sentiment creeping in across part of the fan base.
Christ, you sound like my missus! As l wrote above, had enough. He us a great motivator and talker, but tactically he is ****ing clueless. If he had the Man City squad, l don't think he'd have a clue how to set them up. I just don't see us developing with him at the helm.
At this point now I’m completely on the fence. I wouldn’t blame the club if they opted for change, the results speak for themselves. It seems Ralph can do no wrong on here sometimes, yet you look at his record and he is average for a Saints manager.
Do you think Pep would do any better with our squad? We are safe from relegation with probably the worst budget in the Premier league.
Hopefully he can get the players he wants in the summer quicker for next season and things may well be different.
I think he is vastly above average. He has kept this team up. Our squad is ****e. Without him we’d be down already.
But you need the players to carry out the plan. Season before last I opined that our players weren’t very good but our play WAS good, as a direct result of the press stopping other teams from dominating us. We are currently seeing how weak a squad we have, when we don’t press. We are a team of average players, with very few players, that would attract bids from a top six team. We have a team that has been made to look better as a result of Ralph’s pressing game, which begs the question, from me, as to why we no longer press. Maybe he is trying to show the owners just how average we are, when we try to match teams? The current squad reminds me of when Strachan was in charge. Quite average but got results from superior fitness. Actually I think Strachan had better individuals in his squad.
Having supported Saints since 1989 my experience is that the average Saints manager has kept us up. When I said average I was more referring to stats.
Ralph's a legend. He'll go on to better things than us. Lucky to have him, and been safe from relegation all season, which is an achievement. Look forward to him getting some financial backing in the summer and hitting Europe!
I’m sorry saints second half performance was the worst I’ve seen for a while. Some of our shooting left a lot to be desired. Our players did not seem to want to win. Playing back when forwards were open, rarely did they start an attack down our right. Players walking into position instead of running. What’s this all about. Some of the play was so slow it was unbelievable sorry Ive tried to believe in the manager but todays game was the last straw for me. Not all the managers fault I agree but he doesn’t seem to be able to get the best from the players we have. I am so sorry to say. Yes I am a very disappointed fan. The refereeing and Lino decisions also left a lot to be desired today. Ok rant over. COYS.
I must admit to feeling a bit more than pissed off with today's result. I just punted the neighbour's cat into Belgium, I've no idea what your missus sounds like mine's full of helpful supportive suggestions. Oh well back for more next week.
