I agree, we need to spend, but not that much.

Yep, we need to spend. But unless we spend that much, it'll be mid table.

Vieira has spent £75m to take Palace from 14th to currently 12th.

Didnt Palace lose like 12 players because they didn’t renew their contracts? Remember a stat that something like 60% of the total minutes played in the PL last season had left on frees

I agree with your general point though, we aren’t “pushing on” anywhere without hundreds of millions being spent over a sustained period of time

    Oh, three other things -

The ref was crap, but at least he was crap for both sides.

I can't be bothered to look who said that it should have been a penalty for Palace for a foul on Gallagher, but that couldn't be more wrong. Gallagher should have been booked for the world's most blatant dive.

Wolves are even more on the beach than we are.

They did, but in this league you need to spend money largely to stay still. That's why Ralph has, on reflection, done good by us, because we've not spent and we've stayed still.

I've always been a Ralph inner as my avatar would suggest but the whole feeling around the club just feels stale right now and that is a massive disappointment to me knowing how well we can play when it all clicks.
There needs to be a change maybe with the coaching, mentality and a couple of strong characters on the pitch to manage games where we get a lead. Ralph has had a bigger squad this season and we have been largely injury free so you would expect a degree of progress but this current run is the worst that we have played all season.
We could well finish the season lower than last season and that would feel deflating considering the problems of last season. This summer is a crucial one for Ralph and he needs to identify the areas he wants strengthened and have a good pre season to get off the a strong start and not feel a hangover from this one.

<laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>. Laces, if you think l have turd glasses on, l suggest you had red-rose tinted glasses. Mate, he never tracked back, he was half-hearted into every challenge. If l am turd, l can live with that.

We keep saying our players are average but they are also young and inexperienced at PL level. Not all but more than most other teams. I think we have the second youngest squad behind Arsenal. Not an excuse but needs mentioning.

Two mid table teams with just pride and some prize money to play for.

One had the desire to push on for the win and it wasn’t Saints.

Disappointed with the attitude and application of the players in the late half of this season.

Not too bothered about this season, but feeling slightly concerned for the next.

Smashing it Ralph / players. That is atrocious whichever way the rose-tints look at it (probably missed something tho).

So frustrated with us going forward today. We weren't terrible by any means generally but our attack was so blunt. Redmond was so bad. Flattered to deceive really. No end product at all. Long huffed and puffed and generally made a nuisance of himself but not a lot else. Adams and Long just doesn't work. I reckon Salisu was our biggest threat from his long throws and I'm not joking either.

Really glad I dragged the kids to this one. Currently sat in subway Bedford place feeling very sorry for ourselves before the long drive home. The players were awful today, Adams' passing was dog **** and we looked so toothless in the final 3rd. Why the hell isn't RH giving AA a go at this stage in the season? Utterly baffling.

Ah well. Foolishly bought season tickets for next year for the first time ever. :emoticon-0183-swear

Didn’t see the game but your Redmond / Long comments to me are just so so typical. That’s what they do 95% of the time. No major issue with Shane, Christ he’s 35 & has never been stand out. Nathan has a few good games but usually against poor sides. Yes both good Ralph soldiers but so many average-to-poor PL players. Yep, Ralph’s managing with one maybe two arms tied but as mentioned above, his tactics, selection, motivational skills(?) & substitutions are just weird. Of course we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes but that last 12 game stat & being out played today is atrocious. Players fault? Yes. Ralph’s fault absolutely.
Ps. I see we’ve got our award back; most points dropped …..

Don’t worry Lincs. I’ll be there suffering as well. Ps. Haven’t renewed yet but I’m sure I will even if we lose the next 3. That’s what I/we do.
