Eric Chappell, writer of Rising Damp and Home to Roost, age 88 RIP. Never saw Home to Roost but Rising Damp was brilliant I thought,.
He was unlucky to be understudy to the great Billy Bly, until Billy retired would have got more games but for that. RIP
Interesting read, let me know if you can’t read it all and I’ll try copying it. National recognition. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/obituar...t-surviving-leader-hull-headscarf-protesters/
Hi hope you don’t mind this in this thread . Just watched the Beside Bowie - Mick Ronson Story doc. Wasn’t really into Bowie but that documentary was heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time . He really was a brilliant underrated and under paid bloke. I’ll seek his music out . I played footie with a kid from Longhill who did some roadying for The Rats Hope you didn’t mind
A Radio H*mberside listener this morning said that they should have a statue for the protesters, and it should be sited facing the Artic Corsair in her new berth, great idea.
Condolences QT. Even a simple thing like getting in and out of a car can be a risky business at our age, RIP Bob...enjoy your eternal rest in the arms of our Heavenly Father !!!

Thanks for mentioning it. I did a search on Sky and have just downloaded it. My mam worked at Co-op when Mick Ronson did. He used to get home late after travelling back from gigs and when he had a break he'd sit down and fall asleep.
Cheers got the feeling Bowie ultimately didn’t think him sophisticated enough for re invention . Didn’t realise how good an arranger he was plus the Jack &Diane was a surprise!
