Jim Ratcliffe just bid £4.25bn for Chelsea after stating we were overpriced at £300m in 2019 <laugh><laugh><laugh>

I surprised Chelsea is worth that much personally. I'd have never thought any club would have been worth that amount, and if they were I'd have guessed Real Madrid or City.

Tax exile, majority owner of hotel chain that didn’t pay national minimum wage, publicly threatened to close Grangemouth refinery rather than negotiate with a union

    overall ****

I await the Owners and Directors tests and the public outcry

Agreed. Many of them are corrupt, it's part and parcel of being so rich.

I hear it's £2.5bn to buy with the promise of investment over the next decade. Doubt he'll get it. It needs to happen quickly.

The idea that Chelsea will suffer is dead now the bidders have been named. The consortium wealth dwarfs Abramovic, as does Ineos. They’ll still be a force. Won’t be as “money no object” but they have so much infrastructure in place it’d be some hatchet job to **** it up badly from here. They have a far more sound footing than Man U for example. We don’t even have a footing.

We've got better than that, a bigger bag of cash than the rest of them combined

Yeah but it takes time man. And these other bastards have years on us, decades in some cases. Then we’ve got all these rules coming the other way. There’ll be bumps along the way. Just be thankful we’re now going forward.

Chelsea could and should be in administration way before any of this gets close to completion.

They need £28m this month for wages. Then another £28m next month. The players hope it goes through!

If Roman says no. Government would get crucified for paying it. They'd have no choice but to put it in administration.

He ain’t saying no for ****s sake. He’s beyond astonished that he’s been allowed to even sell it, let alone get ****ing.billions for it. Typical London ****s have lucked out again and a supporter of Russian war criminals has been allowed to get away with it.

Can’t see him being able to make money after paying that for it. It will take decades to pay back.

Thought the plan was that the proceeds are then added to his list of frozen assets. The government don't want to harm Chelsea, but by freezing all his assets they recognised that the club would eventually go under, so sell it and then keep the money.

They can probably use the interest of it to fund arms supplies to Ukraine.

I don't think he's getting money for it, his assets are frozen, so the proceeds for this sale will be as well.

Abramovich's got rich because of an oil rig sale fraudulently fixed by Putin; he's Putin's buddy, and the UK ain't gonna let him just take the money and run.

The BBC are reporting that money from the sale of Chelsea will go to charity.

It was also quoted ' hopefully' in front of those words

They also say the sale should go through before the end of the month
So only 3 weeks to do the fit and proper owners test then
