The 72.co web site quote Les Ferdinand who says basically they will talk to Warburton and says IF we do make a change, we make a change but it will be the one best for the Club's interest and nothing else. Sounds from that together with Warburton's interview on WLS, contrary to Dave Mac's comment, not fully decided to me.
The exact timing from Dave Mac was unclear, and from what Les Ferdinand has now supposedly said, it seems no final decision has been made and as you say never would have been until the end of the season. Same as the out of contract players.
Yep, looks like he's going...hoping they already have the deal done for the replacement, be it Liam Manning or someone else. Just fed up of managers not being given enough time and history repeating itself.
Surprised me to realise he's been with us two whole seasons...which you are right, should be enough time to get things sorted out. His defenders will point to those two years being massively disrupted by COVID, but as with every other excuse for our collapse since January, it has been the same for everyone.
He's not gonna come out and say, yeah we've decided to get rid of him at the end of the season with 2 games still to play is he ?
All sounds a bit untidy. I imagine MW has some sound reasons for believing his tenure is over - whether his agents have enquired about contract talks and been pushed back - who knows? I thought we had become a bit more professional about things. MW seems to be forthright in how he handles things and it doesn’t seem that is reciprocated by some of our higher level management. It seems my suspicions were right from the last aftermatch interview - things aren’t right. Maybe the impact on the players isn’t coming from MW but from them not knowing if their ‘guvnor is going to be there next season.
You don’t have to come out and say that Hr but you can have an honest discussion, in confidence, with the manager so this type of thing doesn’t happen - and you see the season out in a professional manner.
Its all cloak and daggers at the club pal, there's obviously been some sort of fall out. We'll probably never know what has happened but it looks almost certain he's leaving to me.
Nothing seems to be cut & dried at present, all very messy, going tomorrow & will see if fans will give the support & cheer for him
There is still an awful lot of support out there for MW. Seems someone will be on a hiding to nothing now whatever decision is made. All I hope for is continued improvement - which will mean a top six expectation next season whoever is in the luke warm seat.
I was coming on here to say the same. A few days ago it was all Warburton out...but now there is some ambiguity...the fans are now behind Warburton..odd. Whatever Warburton position is weakened by all this....even though all of us who listened will remember that it was said " we are not talking about anybodys contract until the end of the season " What do people think of SLF fixation with watching MK Dons matches. Which players is he scouting... Or is it Liam Manning...a young coach, with an attractive high pressing game, good with young players...and who brought on Declan Rice
