To be honest after just looking at my photos from last night, the body language to me shows not all is at it seems in the background which doesn't bode well sadly.
To be honest I was okay about the result last night but I am slightly concerned when people are saying we were knackered towards the end of the game. The body language of the players isn't what it was either so whatever is happening in the background is having an impact as far as I can see.
Afternoon all, Under Marsch we have seen the best and worst of Klich. At times he has looked past his best this season but had a bit of a resurgence recently but last night he was poor. He was second to every ball and too slow when he had it. Palace midfield simply ran him out of the game. Although he is a CB I think Koch had a better game than Klich and we liked better for him. As for his attitude. It is good to see players goes up for the cause but at the same time this club has been and always will be side before self.
Three times in the first half I shouted at the tv. Each time it was Harrison tackling one of our players, and each time Harrison was facing in the wrong direction, and each time he lost the ball shortly afterwards. When Klich didn't reappear in the second half I said to myself, he ain't gonna be happy about that! Why is he the only one who throws his toys out of the pram when he's taken off? I thought Rodrigo tried hard but it wasn't one of his better efforts, gave the ball away a lot. We created very little and the only one who looked creative was Rapha. Still, Palace have only conceded 17 goals at home this season and looked very tight in defence. A good point for us and I'd have taken it before the game
The amount of times we passed the ball where there were no Leeds Utd players or overhit the pass or underhit the pass or simply didn't look up to see if we were passing to our own player was terrible. Although I can't fault the effort from the lads.
Re klich. I quite like players being p*ssed when they’re subbed. If they didn’t care they wouldn’t be p*ssed. If they think they shouldn’t have been subbed… good, they should want to stay on. I’m sure he calms down afterwards, always seemed a decent lad.
KP was interviewed after the game, he seemed very despondent, I swear he will be leaving I got the impression he is not happy
Hoping that the performance was panicky nerves and Marsch has a way of sorting it out.. most of these players were playing good, passing football last season, but been crap even under Marsch recently. Man Utd losing to Everton then Burnley outplaying Southampton and Wolves has maybe sent the team over the edge. One minute they are safe and then those 3 results blew up in their faces and they have to do it all again. if its not then its Marsch, simple as that.
I didn't think Phillips had a good game at all last night. I know he's just coming back from injury, but you'd expect glimses of brilliance
Regardless of where we finish this season, I don't see either kp or Raphinha staying for another season. Lack of ambition by the club likely main reason. They're not blind and Im sure have far loftier ambitions than spending another season fighting relegation. Sadly, with our current board I fear that's where well be at
They just looked nervous to me. Saw kalvin walking off at the end next to another player. Pressure is all it is and let's face it only a point was gained. You would have seen different faces after a win.
Radz has mentioned often that we intend to follow the “Leicester model” so it was always likely we’d cash in on Raphinha if he was a success to make profit to improve the squad. What we have to hope is that our scouting is as good as theirs has been.
Part of Leicesters model is only selling a player on your own terms, and not more than one star departure per window...
