I watched him get skinned by Eze twice, Zaha once, gave the ball away 3 times in dangerous areas and looked like he was running through treacle even though he was fresh. The PL is too quick for him.
Yep. I'm not putting too much blame on the defenders for their horrible passing. They had nobody in front of them to pass too. You could see Dallas literally punch the ground in frustration at his midfielders who couldn't offer a way out at one point.
To be fair we just matched city’s result at palace. So with home advantage we probably start as favourites.
Fantastic resilience from the lads tonight. A touch lucky but you make your own luck through hard work and whatever we lacked in quality we made up for with passion and commitment. Ask yourself this; how many clear cut goal scoring chances did Palace actually have ?
When you're in a relegation battle then clean sheets trump everything especially at this stage of the season. Whatever Jesse is doing clearly something is working and yes we'll most likely concede a few against Man City on Saturday but we'll just have to take that on the chin and move on.
fair point. I have previously said re Jesse ball… we give up a lot of ‘scary moments’ but don’t cough up that many clear cut chances. Because we’re so narrow we get these wide boys like Saha cutting in on us and having the fans covering our eyes but they either have to shoot from a tight angle or run into the traffic we have stationed in the middle. with bielsa we had no one in the middle as everyone hugged the touch line, and sides just walked through the empty spaces to score often very simple goals. … I appreciate that’s a rather simplistic tactical break down… but simple is the limit of my capabilities on such matters
Same here, for me Ayling 7-8 the rest of the defence a 5 maximum, I thought Cooper was shocking tonight. Koch was dreadful in the middle, worse than Klich even, the rest a bit cold cold hot A clean sheet unbeaten in 5 and a point in London sounds okay but when you think that if Burnley beat Watford we’ll be lining up against City needing a win or we’ve only Everton between us and relegation
I'd like to think you're right but I think we might need 5 more points and for Arsenal to get their first point(s) against Everton in 2 years
yeh, the fixtures are what they are though. I can see both Everton and Burnley getting to 38/39 points… though reality says it’s unlikely both will do that. it’s going to be squeaky bum time though that’s for sure. I don’t think many would have predicted quite as many points from marsch’ first 7 games - so it highlights just how much trouble we were in.
Well, you're original comment was basically I need to watch again so I thought I'd elaborate on what I saw from him. Genuinely like to hear what you saw in Kochs performance last night?
